You May Be Down, But Not Out!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever been left for dead?  Maybe not physically, but emotionally, spiritually, or mentally.  Things in your life appeared out of order.  Everything you worked so hard to achieve was starting to fall apart in your life.  You are now enduring a lonely season.  The friends you once counted on are now few and far between.  Have you ever been counted out by people who could not see how you would recover?  Through their eyes your situation was impossible.  There was no way you could recover.  There was no way you could bounce back.  Family and friends began to speak negativity.  You believed but no one else did.  Have you ever found yourself believing God for something everyone else said was crazy and unrealistic?  They could not see how or why you would waste God’s time asking for something that no one else has ever had or asked for.  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Welcome to real life.  If you thought life was full of peaches and cream, welcome to reality.  Just because no one believes you can bounce back from the blows of the enemy, does not mean you stop trying to recover.  God did not form you in His likeness and in His image so that you could remain down and out.  There are times in our lives when life may catch us off guard.  Attacks may leave us weary and wounded.  But in spite of it all, there is one thing you must always understand.  My friend, You May Be Down, But Not Out!  The Bible declares in Proverbs 24:16 – For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.  Just because the enemy threw several good blows does not mean the fight is over.  You can win.  You will win.  You shall win.  God has created you to win.  That situation may have taken strength from you, but God is able to restore it back.

My brother, my sister, no matter what it looks like or how it feels, you are able to get back up again.  Beloved, You May Be Down, But Not Out!  We all have fallen in our lives.  We have made mistakes that no one but the Lord may know about.  The Bible declares in Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  No man (besides Jesus Christ) can stand and proclaim a life without sin.  We are God’s chosen vessels.  Yes God knows about your mistakes.  Yes God knows about your past mistakes.  Yes God is aware of your potentials to fall again.  Nevertheless, you are still able to get up again.  Child of God, if you have fallen, getting up starts with your willingness to do it.  God is standing and waiting to help you.  The Bible declares in Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.  Prayer for Today: Father, I acknowledge my shortcomings.  But today I desire to rise up again.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

You Must Be On Guard!

Tuesday, May 30th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  As your day begins to unfold and you prepare yourself for the tasks that await you, make sure you have equipped yourself with the proper attire.  Many times throughout our days the enemy sends attacks against us because he noticed open areas in our lives.  Sometimes we cover our ears from hearing negativity, our hands from touching cursed things, but we leave our eyes open to surroundings we know do not please the Lord.  We know God receives no glory in the midst of gossip and rumors, but we entertain the person who runs to us with the latest information.  Whether the news is true or false, you must learn how to guard your spirit from the plots of the enemy.  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you (1 Corinthians 3:16)?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister.  You are responsible for the way you treat your temple.  Some places you can no longer go.  Some people you can no longer surround yourself with.  Some things you can no longer engage in.  My friend, You Must Be On Guard!  You must do all you can to protect your spirit from hearing, seeing, receiving, or entertaining evil.  The Bible declares in Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  You must place the entire armour of God on.  The area you leave exposed will be the same area the enemy attacks.  The area you take for granted will be the area that sin enters in.  God has been speaking to me about the level of treatment we issue to our bodies.  Gossip, rumors, lies, and demonic assaults contaminate the things of God.  You must do as the Bible declares in James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

My brother, my sister, there’s nothing else to say but there is work to do.  Make up your mind to do what is necessary to protect the investment God has made in your life.  You Must Be On Guard!  Beloved, if you do not do it, who will?  The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 10:12 – Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.  Prayer for Today: Father, I have received my warning.  Now I must obey the orders given.  I shall be on guard.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

The Lord Requires Quality Time!

Friday, May 26th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  When was the last time you told the Lord thank you?  Thank you, not because of the many things you have, but for God being God.  Thanking Him for being all-seeing, all-knowing, and always there.  Thanking Him for never leaving you nor forsaking you.  Thanking Him for standing on guard against your enemies and foes.  Thanking Him for being a friend when no one else could be trusted.  Thanking Him for being a comforter when chaos, confusion, tragedy, and/or loneliness came against you.  When was the last time you spent quality time with the Lord?  Time uninterrupted by people or materialistically distractions.  Time when you rested in the manifest presence of God.  Time when the only thing you cared about was hearing God’s voice.  Time when being with the Lord, in your secret place, meant more than watching your favorite television program.  Time when you realized what you stood in need of would only come from the Lord Himself.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Have you found yourself experiencing challenges on every side?  Are you stuck in the middle of a dilemma?  If yes is your answer, allow me to ask you another important question.  During this time in your life, how often do you rely on God for instructions, guidance and direction?  Are you a one-sided believer?  This means a person who only goes to God when things are going wrong in their life.  As long as things are good, you do not need the Lord (so you think.)  My friend, The Lord Requires Quality Time!  The Bible declares in Psalms 91:1 – He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  Any person you claim to love is a person you spend personal time with.  It is impossible for anyone to claim they love God and never spend any personal, intimate time with Him.  How would you feel if your companion claimed to love you, but never had any time for you?  How would it make you feel if your companion always had excuses when it came to spending quality time with you?

My brother, my sister, The Lord Requires Quality Time!  God wants His own time with you.  He wants time directly centered around Him.  No interruptions.  No distractions.  No interference.  When was the last time this happened in your life?  Are you always finding excuses when God requests time with you?  The Bible declares in John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:  Beloved, imagine if God made excuses every time you came to Him with a request.  Imagine how you would feel if the Lord turned a deaf ear to your voice.  We never want to imagine God doing it to us, but we often do it to Him.  Today, I challenge you to re-evaluate your walk with the Lord.  How much time do you spend with God each day?  How much time do you spend in prayer, praise, worship, Bible reading, or laying in God’s presence?  Child of God, there is something awesome that occurs when you give God personal time.  The Lord Requires Quality Time! Prayer for Today: Father, I am who I am because You have performed great works in my life.  I desire to spend quality time with You … alone!  Lets start today.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

T.G.I.F. (The God I Follow)!

Thursday, May 25th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself trying to explain to others why God continues to bless your steps?  For some apparent reason, you feel the need to apologize for being blessed and try explaining why it is that God blesses you.  Even if you try to explain it, you really do not understand yourself.  We have not lived sin-free.  We have not been perfect and upright.  We have fallen short many times and we have the potential to fall again.  God’s choice to bless you had nothing to do with the sweet voice you spoke with.  He was not overwhelmed by your smooth vocabulary.  Have you ever had people judge you because God was doing for you what they wanted Him to do for them?  In stead of believing God for their personal lives, people begin to use their energy against the chosen vessels of God.  Are you the chosen vessel or the jealous person?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Lets talk briefly this morning.  If you look back over your life, you can conclude one thing: It’s the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in my eyes (Psalms 118:22-23).  No matter how you try to understand it or explain it, God’s ways are higher than your ways and His thoughts are higher than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).  Stop trying to dress up what God is doing in your life.  It is time for us to be honest with others and ourselves.  The truth of the matter really is God desires to do it.  When people question how you received bountiful blessings, turn to them and say one thing … T.G.I.F. (The God I Follow)!  It is the God you follow that enables you to experience His abundance.  My friend, be not deceived.  Just because God is blessing you does not mean you are entitled to selfish ways.  You are blessed to bless.  The blessings of God were sent to you, that they may go through you for someone else.

My brother, my sister, your life is blessed because God saw fit to do it.  We were all headed for a life of hell and separation.  We all needed and still need the mercy of God.  Encourage those around you.  They need not be jealous of you.  The same God who blesses you, is the same God who can bless them as well.  Beloved, when people stare and point, allow your response to their questions to be: T.G.I.F. (The God I Follow)!  It is the Lord, not us.  The Bible declares in John 15:16 – Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you.  You are a chosen vessel of God.  He desires to use you for great things.  Do not allow the insecurities of others to detour you from your destiny.  The next time a person questions why God is blessing you, do not get upset or consumed with anger.  Look them right in the eyes and say … T.G.I.F. (The God I Follow)!Prayer for Today: Father, all that I have came from You.  All that I desire comes from You.  All that I will have, will come from You.  Thank You for it all.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

We Are Walking, Talking Testimonies!

Wednesday, May 24th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  When you go throughout your day’s journey, do you behave in a manner that is pleasing to God or pleasing to man?  Do you strive to be accepted by others, while ignoring the commandments of God?  Do you carry yourself in a Christ-like manner or an egotistical manner?  Can people see Christ residing within you?  How do you treat other people?  How do you display Christ on your job?  Many times in our lives we become preoccupied with our own agendas until we forget the agenda of God.  The way we treat other people explains a lot about us.  Have you ever been guilty of talking to someone in a rude manner?  Have you ever treated someone less than a person?  Do you act better than the waiter or waitress when you order your food?  The Bible declares in Hebrews 13:2 – Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.  Have you forgotten how far God has brought you?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Can God trust you with the anointing He placed over your life?  Does your mouth cause more problems than necessary?  Do you allow the enemy to use you?  My friend, We Are Walking, Talking Testimonies!  We are not here to have the world centered around us.  We are not here to have our horn tooted by our peers and colleagues.  We are here because God saw fit to rescue and redeem us from a life of sin and hell.  You are here because Jesus Christ sacrificed His life in our stead.  The Bible declares in Romans 5:8 – But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  He died so we could live.  He died so we could testify about His goodness and faithfulness toward all mankind.  The way we conduct ourselves will either hinder or bless our witness to others.  Many people will watch your actions before they receive your words.  What are your actions saying right now?

My brother, my sister, We Are Walking, Talking Testimonies!  On our jobs, in our communities, within our churches, at the beauty salon and barber shops, driving in our cars, at the restaurant.  Wherever you are or whatever you are doing, we are charged to display Christ.  The Bible declares in Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  It is through our testimonies and Jesus’ blood that we are able to defeat the enemy.  The more you tell of God’s great and mighty works, the more you defeat the enemy.  Think about it, when you start talking about the Lord, it is then that the enemy tries to shut your mouth.  He starts to send anything and anyone against you.  We Are Walking, Talking Testimonies!  Open your mouth and declare the mighty acts of God.  Be silent no more.  Prayer for Today: Father, You have been to good for me to remain silent.  I will be an effective witness through my walking and talking.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

Just When Quitting Crossed Your Mind …

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever experienced a time in your life when everything became overwhelming?  No matter what you did or how you did it, weariness consumed your body.  No matter how much work you delegated there was still much work to complete.  No matter how many times friends and family told you take a vacation, you could not see how and when it would be possible.  Have you ever found yourself drowning in the sorrows of yesterday, concerned about today, and worried about tomorrow? Because of past mistakes and shortcomings, now you worry about everything backfiring in your life.  You desire to move forward but the enemy continues to remind you of your sins.  Have you ever thought about throwing in the towel?  Just when you thought things were looking better, something unforeseen took place.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister directly to you.  You are the person God designed today’s devotional for.  He placed you on my mind.  Just When Quitting Crossed Your Mind …  How often do you feel this way?  How often do you contemplate quitting?  How often do you ponder walking away from ministry?  How often do you dread things as usual?  My friend, God is well aware of your weary times.  He notices the times you cry and no one appears to notice.  He notices the nights you walked the floor in doubt and worry.  He noticed the times you tried to stretch finances because every bill was due at the same time.  He knows you want to give up.  He knows you want to walk away from everything and everyone.  The Bible declares in Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  Are you aware that there is a specific season when that bad thing will turn in your life (Romans 8:28)?  I cannot tell you when, but I can tell you God is in charge.

My brother, my sister, Just When Quitting Crossed Your Mind …  You current situation is not greater than your God.  The doctor’s diagnosis is not the final word.  The bill collector’s phone calls are not the end.  The bank statement is not completely accurate.  You are blessed beyond material and monetary means.  You serve a God who specializes in the impossible.  The Bible declares in Matthew 11:29 – Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  Many times the weariness we experience is because of our inability to fully surrender.  As long as you think it can be handled by your hands you will continue to endure.  It is when you release the matter into the hands of God that you understand how awesome God really can be for you.  Beloved, the next time quitting crosses your mind, remind yourself and your enemy that God is in control.  Prayer for Today: Father, I have thought about quitting before.  It really has crossed my mind.  But today I understand You have never lost a case or a battle.  Handle this (place your this here) for me.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

God Only Wants You To Trust Him!

Monday, May 22nd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever been in a situation where everything and everyone tried to help but they could not?  A position where you were left to trust and wait on the Lord.  A position where no one else could get you out but the Lord (in His timing.)  A position that felt uncomfortable and appeared impossible.  A position where the norm no longer seemed certain.  Have you ever had your life changed drastically?  A life where everything was once in order.  A life where your savings and checking accounts never experienced negative balances.  A life where sickness and disease did not enter.  A life with the white picket fence, two kids (ha ha), the wonderful spouse, family dog, nice salary job, great church family, 401k, etc.  Have you ever experienced a time when even the “securities” of this world could not relieve the pain and hurting you felt?  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Many times we allow this world to define what success and achievement means.  We strive so hard to obtain the pleasures of this life until we no longer depend upon the provision and protection of God.  Our faith is no longer in the Lord, but in our “so called” abilities.  My friend, God Only Wants You To Trust Him!  The situation you face today is not sent to punish you.  The Lord has allowed certain things to take place in our lives for one specific reason … for us to trust in Him.  The Bible declares Psalms 118:8 – It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  Imagine how it makes the Lord feel every time we face a dilemma we run to Him for help, but when things appear okay in our lives He never hears from us.  Imagine how you would feel if your child only call on you when (s)he wanted something.  The Lord desires to take care of all your needs.  He desires to be your Great Provider (Jehovah Jireh).  He desires to grant all your requests according to His will.

My brother, my sister, God Only Wants You To Trust Him!  He only wants us to call upon Him for ever thing not just certain things.  The Bible declares in Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.  This is what the Lord wants from each person.  Our total trust in Him.  It is because of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.  It is His faithfulness that enables us to make it from day to day (Lamentations 3:22-23).  Beloved, what matter are you dealing with this morning?  Are you totally depending upon God?  Have you completely surrendered it all to Him?  Are you still trusting your contacts and networking abilities?  Child of God, until you let go and let God, this matter will not go away.  Stop worrying, God knows what He is doing.  God Only Wants You To Trust Him!  Can you do that much?  Prayer for Today: Father, You know exactly what I am faced with today.  You know each matter I face.  This morning, I surrender these matters and concerns to You.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

Peace Into Your Mind!

Friday, May 19th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Early this morning God spoke one thing to me and it is the same thing I have been commissioned to speak to you.  He said, I speak Peace Into Your Mind!  God knows what we are dealing with in our homes, within our marriages, within our ministry, our finances, on our jobs, and with our family.  He knows how stressed and weary you are at this time.  He knows you need an answer to an immediate question.  He knows you are on the verge of quitting and breaking down.  He knows all of this about me and about you.  He knows, my friend, He knows!  Since He knows, I come to encourage you to be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Today, no matter what you are going through.  No matter how awful it feels.  No matter how impossible it appears.  No matter how stressed you feel.  No matter what the doctors have told you.  No matter what your eyes currently see or your ears currently hear.  No matter what your bank statement reads.  No matter what traps are set against you.  No matter what drama you face or dilemma you experience.  God has sent me this morning to declare one thing, … Peace Into Your Mind!

Beloved, today rest in the assurance that God has not forgotten about you (Hebrews 13:5).  He has heard your cry (Psalms 40:1).  He has sent the solution before you recognized there was a problem.  Go forth in the peace that only God can supply.  Prayer for Today: Father, You know my current situation.  You know how I feel at this current moment.  I rest in Your care and protection.  Today, I walk in Your supplied peace.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

Every Entrée Requires Good Ingredients!

Thursday, May 18th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Are you the type of person that gives up on your dreams and goals real easy?  At the sight of trials and tribulations, do you easily surrender to the opposition?  When family and friends do not support your aspirations, do you give up on the plan of God for your life?  So often in our lives we expect the blessings without anticipating the challenges.  The enemy will never allow you to receive or enjoy the blessings of God without doing what he can to hinder you.  Yes the promises of God will come to pass in your life.  You can rest upon God’s promises.  However, between the promise and the fulfillment, will always be a process.  It is during the process that the enemy sends everything and everyone against you.  It is during the process that makes the fulfillment seem uncertain.  If you lose sight of the fulfillment while experiencing the process, the enemy has won. It is during the process that you must trust God and depend upon His strength and guidance.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  During the process of your life you must understand the importance of God in your life.  Many people celebrate the victory with you, but they do not endure the training.  My friend, Every Entrée Requires Good Ingredients!  We tend to forget several important ingredients that are needed to make the best entrée.  The first ingredient is God.  You cannot build, plant, sow, or expect without having a foundation based upon God.  No matter how hard you try, any man that builds a house without the Lord involved, that man labors in vain (Psalms 127:1).  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.   The second ingredient required is the Word of God.  You must apply God’s Word to every situation in your life.  Whether you think it is major or minor, you must apply God’s Word.  Do you not know that every big situation started out small?  The Bible declares in Psalms 119:105 – Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

My brother, my sister,  Every Entrée Requires Good Ingredients!  The third required ingredient is prayer.  You must have a prayer life that goes beyond the traditional Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.  You must have a personal, intimate prayer life with the Father.  A prayer life that’s center around your desire to fellowship and commune with God.  The Bible declares in James 5:16 –  … The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.  The fourth ingredient required is obedience.  After you have placed God first, applied His Word, talked to Him in prayer, now you must operate in obedience to whatever God tells you to do.  The Bible declares in 1 Samuel 15:22 – Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.  There comes a time when you must walk in accordance to God’s commandments and instructions. Beloved, the entrée you desire to enjoy will come as a result of you following the ingredients in the order God instructs.  The blessings of God are predicated on your willingness to follow the ingredients.  Prayer for Today: Father, thank you for investing greatness within me.  I will do my best to apply the ingredients listed.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

Our God is The Awesome God!

Wednesday, May 17th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Do you realize God is able to do whatever He wants, when He wants, and how He wants?  Do you realize God is not limited by our fears and insecurities?  Do you realize God is aware of you and your needs?  Do you realize God knew you before you knew you and momma and daddy knew each other?  Do you understand there is nothing too hard for God (Genesis 18:14)?  Many times in our lives we tend to forget how Sovereign our God really is.  We often place God in the same category as ourselves.  We approach God as if He has limitations and weaknesses.  We pray to Him only when we feel He is able to do it.  While man is an imperfect being, God is perfect in every way.  There are no shortcomings or skeletons in God’s closet.  He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think of (Ephesians 3:20).  He is God.  He is Lord of all and in all.  He is before all things, in all things and the conclusion of all things.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, Our God is The Awesome God!  He is not an awesome god, but He is THE Awesome God.  This means no one else is on His level.  There are no other gods or lords great as He.  The Bible declares in Revelation 17:14 – … for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.  The limitations we have that limit us, do not limit God.  When you approach the throne room of God you must come unto Him in belief and certainty.  You must know He can and He will.  You must be confident in God’s abilities.  No matter how horrific the situation appears, you must have an unwavering trust in the Lord.  The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  Our God is The Awesome God!  You will never find anything or anyone that can ever take His place.

My brother, my sister, your current situation is small to such a Great God.  The same dilemma that consumes your thoughts and robs you of your sleep, is the same dilemma God desires to free you from.  Whether you believe it or not, I know God specializes in things that appear impossible.  The Bible declares in Luke 18:27 – And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.  Beloved, Our God is The Awesome God!  He is God that sits high, but looks low.  He knows your needs before you have need of them.  He’s so much God that He can send the solution before you realize there is a problem.  Who else can do such great things?  No one but our God.  Today, what are you dealing with?  What trial or tribulation do you find yourself faced with this morning?  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Child of God, never forget Our God is The Awesome God, He reigns from Heaven above with wisdom, power, and love.  Our God is The Awesome GOD.  Prayer for Today: Father, thank You for being the AWESOME God in my life.  I know You can fix any problem and answer any prayer.  I honor and adore You.  Bless Your name.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!
