He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs.” Indeed, the Hebrew title Mishle Shelomoh is translated “Proverbs of Solomon.” Solomon’s proverbs were penned around 900 B.C. During his reign as king, the nation of Israel reached its pinnacle spiritually, politically, culturally, and economically. As Israel’s reputation soared, so did King Solomon’s. Foreign dignitaries from the far reaches of the known world traveled great distances to hear the wise monarch speak (1 Kings 4:34).

In the Book of Proverbs, Solomon reveals the mind of God in matters high and lofty and in common, ordinary, everyday situations, too. It appears that no topic escaped King Solomon’s attention. Matters pertaining to personal conduct, sexual relations, business, wealth, charity, ambition, discipline, debt, child-rearing, character, alcohol, politics, revenge, and godliness are among the many topics covered in this rich collection of wise sayings.

Certainly, Proverbs is the greatest “how-to” book ever written, and those who have the good sense to take Solomon’s lessons to heart will quickly discover godliness, prosperity, and contentment are theirs for the asking. The recurring promise of the Book of Proverbs is that those who choose wisdom and follow God will be blessed in numerous ways: with long life (9:11); prosperity (2:20-22); joy (3:13-18); and the goodness of God (12:21). Those who reject Him, on the other hand, suffer shame and death (3:35; 10:21). To reject God is to choose folly over wisdom and is to separate ourselves from God, His Word, His wisdom and His blessings.

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever dreamed of greater things for your life? Where you are now is not where you plan to stay. Have you ever desired to go further in the Lord? Your spirit will not allow you to get comfortable. Have you ever been surrounded by lazy people? They no longer have the desire and drive to go after more. Have you ever felt trapped by the traditions of your church or the stereotypes of this world? Everytime you attempt to do something you always hear the same line, … “We never did it that way before!” So often in our lives, we find ourselves stuck between comfort and the unknown. Comfort represents where you have always been, but unknown is where God wants to take you. Comfort is your daily routine (your agenda), but unknown is God’s plan and His agenda.

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. During those times when you desire to have more or do more, what prevents you? Those times when you want to step out but you are afraid, what causes you fear? In life, we are faced with so many choices. Everyday we make hundreds of choices for our lives. While choosing, there must come a time when we must choose to do the will of God. What has God promised for your life? My friend, Go After It! You must get to a point where your excuses are no longer hindering you. The Bible declares in Hebrews 12:1 - … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. You must separate yourself from people, places and things which attempt to detour you from the destiny God has for you. No matter what it takes, if God said it was for you, Go After It! Pursue the plan of God for your life. Desire to have all God wants to give.

My brother, my sister, are there any stumbling blocks in your life? Are there any wolves in sheep’s clothing? Are there any doubters and unbelievers in your way? If you want what God has, you have to do what you have never done before. The Bible declares in Genesis 32:24-27 - And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a Man with him until the breaking of the day…26 And He said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except Thou bless me. Dear friend, sometimes you have to be willing to go through some things. In spite of it, Go After It! You might have to experience a season of isolation (a time when you are by yourself). In spite of it, Go After It! There are times when you have to endure purification (a time of cleansing). In spite of it, Go After It! Beloved, no matter what it takes, be determined to Go After It! Prayer for Today: Father, I know you have a plan and purpose for my life. I know you desire to use me for your glory. Give me the strength to stand and the desire to Go After It! In Jesus’ name … Amen!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever found yourself backed up against the wall? Somewhere along the line you lost control. Have you ever had weak moments in your life? Times when you did not want to leave the comfort of your home. You thought everything would go away if you stayed in bed all day. Have you ever cried until you could not cry anymore? Have you ever screamed until there was no more sound coming out? Have you ever prayed yourself to sleep at night? Have you ever spent all day worrying about tomorrow? Have you been there? Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest! When you can no longer think of something or someone to count on, it is then that God can manifest Himself. As long as you think you have the answer, God will stand back. When you finally submit and surrender to the All-knowing, All-powerful God, He can show Himself strong. The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness … In your life, there’s nothing too hard for God to handle. What seems impossible to you, is possible to God (Luke 1:37). At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest! While it may be true that you know a lot of people, there will come a time in your life when your networking and connecting will not help. A time when money cannot buy an answer. A time when you must trust in the power of God.

My brother, my sister, At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest! The Bible declares in Matthew 11:29-30 - Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Dear friend, what are you faced with today? Where do you find yourself feeling weak? Are you tired of being tired? Are you in need of relief? You must understand the strength of God. Many forget God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Since He created all that we know, He is able to handle it all. Nothing can occur in our lives, that God finds difficult. Since He created all things, that makes Him stronger than everything. At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest! Thought To Remember: If you focus on God’s strength, you can overcome your weaknesses.

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever been in need of something miraculous to happen in your life? You have tried every connection and referral you could think of. Have you ever cried out for someone to help you? There was so much pain that you thought you would lose your mind. Have you ever wanted to give up on yourself? Everything you said you would no longer do, you still find yourself doing it. Have you ever felt punished by life? No matter where you turn, everything and everyone seemed to be against you. What do you do when your surroundings have become unfamiliar? What do you do when everything you worked for is now diminishing before you?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. In spite of all you have endured in life, your outcome can experience a drastic change. Today it could seem impossible and tomorrow it could seem changeable. My friend, all you need is One Touch! While your current situation(s) appears inevitable, your eternal God is capable. The Bible declares in Mark 5:27 - When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched His garment. You must get to a point in your life, when you are determined to get all the Lord has for you. Your past pains and heartaches can become present joys and celebrations. All you need is One Touch! If Christ were to place His hand in the midst of your current circumstance, everything that is wrong would be corrected. No dark area can remain when the Light of the World intervenes. The Bible declares in Jeremiah 1:9 - Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put My words in thy mouth.

My brother, my sister, all you need is One Touch! One encounter with the Lord. One moment in His divine presence. No matter how bad you feel, One Touch can change everything. No matter what the report stated, One Touch can change everything. In spite of every negative word spoken against you, One Touch can change everything. No matter what the bank statement shows, One Touch can change everything. The Bible declares in Daniel 10:10 - And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. God is able is change the direction of your life, with One Touch. What are you in need of today? Do you have a heavy heart? Has sickness attacked your body or your family? Are you on the verge of a breakdown? Dear friend, all you need is One Touch! Challenge for Today: In stead of complaining about the matter, ask God to lay His hand on it.

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever spent hours, days, weeks or years worrying about other people’s opinions? Have you ever attempted to make everyone around you happy? Do you believe you can make everyone happy? Do you believe you can make everyone like and accept you? So often in our lives, we fail to realize how important we are to God. We spend so much time trying to receive man’s kind words, until we shut God out of our lives. The way you wake up and go to sleep usually depends on what has been said about you. Does this sound like anyone you know? Does this sound like you?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, Let People Say What They Will! You will never be able to please everyone. There are some people who strive to make your life miserable. You can have ten friends. You can treat each of them the same way all the time. In the end, at least one of the ten will complain that you treat him/her different. The Bible declares in James 1:8 - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. When you spend your time trying to please each person you encounter, your foundation becomes unstable. You find yourself tossed to and fro. You are who the Lord made you to be in this world. You are here to fulfill your purpose by design. Let People Say What They Will! The Bible declares in Psalms 118:8 - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

My brother, my sister, your God-given assignment will not make everyone happy with you. There will be times when you are misunderstood and misrepresented. You will have fingers pointed in your face. You must stand for righteousness sake. You must not waver. The Bible declares in Matthew 6:24 - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Let People Say What They Will! Your anointing is not based on man’s opinion. The success and significance of your ministry is not based on the newspaper articles. You cannot spend your days and nights in a corner hiding. You are chosen to help change a generation. Some things will come with the territory. Let People Say What They Will! Thought to Remember: Dear friend, always remember this one thing - when you had nothing to give, God gave His Son, let them talk about that!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever experienced depression? How about loneliness? How were you able to handle it? Do you remember how it began? Are you still experiencing it? So often in our lives, we dance and shout in church, but go home broken. We say all of the “holy” words when we are around others, but internally we have lost our joy. You are crying but no one seems to hear you. You are reaching out for help and no one seems to notice. You are begging for someone, anyone to recognize your current state. Have you been there? Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. Through depression, loneliness, and low self-esteem, the Lord is able to deliver you. When you are crying and reaching out for help, the Lord is able to hear and save you. My friend, God Hears Your Whisper! The Bible declares in Isaiah 59:1 - Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: Many people will never experience what you have experienced in life. Some would never recover from what you endured. When your body is tired and your voice is weak, God Hears Your Whisper! He is able to hear what no one else hears. He is able to be strong when you are weak. He is still God, even when all hell has broken loose. The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness…

My brother, my sister, at your breaking point in life, God Hears Your Whisper! When you feel alone and friendless, God Hears Your Whisper! When the world seems to be caving in on you, God Hears Your Whisper! When friends and family betray you, God Hears Your Whisper! Your inner-most thoughts, are heard by the Lord. Have you ever been so tired until all you could do was whisper? No more strength to yell. No more strength to cry. No more strength to get up. Never allow the enemy to defeat you in this manner. God is always present and listening. No matter what lies the enemy speaks in your ears, God does still care for you. The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Thought to Remember: God can always hear you, even when you whisper.

Have you ever wanted to change something about another person? Over time you have noticed things about your friend or spouse that you would love to change. Have you ever wanted to change something about yourself? After self-evaluating yourself, you noticed an area in your life that could be better. Have you ever been somewhere and over time you began to redecorate the place? Certain colors did not appeal to you. So often in our lives, we desire to change everything and everyone. We notice the mistakes of others before we notice our own. Have you ever been there? Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. When you notice mistakes in your friend’s life, are you quick to bring it to their attention? When someone notices mistakes in your life, are you able to accept constructive criticism? My friend, Change Starts Within! One of the biggest problems we face in our world today is the failure to make changes for the better. The Bible declares in Matthew 7:3 - And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? When problems arise on your job, how do you handle the situation? Are you quick to complain and gossip or do you walk away and begin to pray? In your home, when something needs to be done, do you take the initiative or do you wait for someone else to do it? Change Starts Within! Before we can expect someone else to change, we must begin to change ourselves. God is sufficient toward us. He is willing and able to assist us in any areas of our lives.

My brother, my sister, change is not always a bad thing. So often we become complacent in certain areas and situations. We stop expecting the sun to shine. The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Change Starts Within! Today, what are you going through? In your life, where have you given up? Within yourself, if you believe that things can and will get better, they can and will. If you trust in the Sovereignty of God, you will see His glory manifested for you. Many people have given up on you. They do not believe you can change. Your situation seems unbearable. The vision God gave you appears to be unreachable. Change Starts Within! You must learn to minister to yourself. You must begin to speak life to yourself. You must change the way you walk, talk, think and live. The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Thought to Remember: Self-evaluate yourself, before you criticize someone else.

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever been around people who worry and complain all the time? No matter what the Lord does for them, they still find something to worry themselves over? Have you ever doubted the Lord’s abilities? Have you ever questioned God’s love for you? So often in our lives, we dance and shout on the outside, but worry and fear within. We murmur about everything and everyone. Nothing is good enough. We even question our God-given blessings. Have you been there? Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, Worry is the Opposite of Faith! The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. When you sit around worrying about your bills, your job, your marriage, your children, your finances, you’re actually sitting around doubting the Lord. In your eyes, a positive outcome is impossible. You cannot see how things can or will get better. The Bible declares in Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible. Worry is the Opposite of Faith! Faith allows you to believe even though you have not seen the manifestation yet. It allows you to hold on until your change comes. The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

My brother, my sister, Worry is the Opposite of Faith! Worry is a tool of the enemy. It is used to destroy you and those around you. The Bible declares in Matthew 6:25 - Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Have you ever known someone who worries about tomorrow, without enjoying today? You ask, “How are you doing,” they reply, “I am blessed, but …” It is right there that the enemy has stepped in. How can you say you are blessed, but speak just the opposite? Worry is the Opposite of Faith! You must understand, we all endure challenges. We all face mountains in our lives. Knowing this, it is very important that we live our lives knowing God can and He will. Thought to Ponder: When was the last time your worrying helped you?

Think about this: If you are going to pray, why worry? If you are going to worry, why pray?

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever known someone who had a difficult time making decisions? No matter what the subject was about, he or she could never make up their mind. Have you ever known someone who wavers like the wind? Whatever you do, they want to do. Always desiring to do what everyone else is doing. Have you ever been around someone who always griped and moaned about others? This person never compliments anyone for anything. Have you ever compromised your beliefs to keep someone happy? Have you ever turned your back on integrity? Have you ever saw someone doing something wrong but acted as if it never took place?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. So often in our lives, we experience testing times. Sometimes life can place you in a position of discomfort. The things you grew accustom to are no longer accepted. You are now forced to decide how you will live. My friend, Whatever You Do, Be Steadfast! The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye ststeadfastunmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. The more you live, the more you understand that everyone will not remain steadfast. The fear of rejection causes many people to reject their faith. Your life is not a mistake. No matter how you were brought into this world, it was not a mistake. Where you are in your life is not a mistake. To say it is a mistake, is to say God has lost control (we all know that is untrue). Where you are in your life can be used as a testimony of God’s goodness. Many people are watching to see if you will hold on and believe.

My brother, my sister, Whatever You Do, Be Steadfast! There are many who have walked away from the body of Christ. There are many who have rejected the Word of God. If you can testify about the faithfulness of God, you must be willing to do just that. The Bible declares in Revelation 12:11 - And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; … Your testimony can be the one thing that keeps someone from falling apart. No it is not easy. Yes there are challenges everywhere you turn. But my friend, Whatever You Do, Be Steadfast! At your lowest point(s) in life, God remained faithful toward you (Lamentations 3:23). He never walked away from any opportunity to help you. The Bible declares in Hebrews 3:14 - For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end. Hold on and see the salvation of the Lord. Question to Ponder: If everyone walked away, would you?
