Have You Lost Your Zeal?

Friday, June 30th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  You know God is THE awesome God.  He reigns from Heaven above with wisdom, power, and love.  The God we serve is THE awesome God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Throughout life each of us will experience challenges and circumstances.  As Job declared in Job 14:1 – Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.  When you first committed your life to the Lord, you walked away excited about the endless opportunities to minister to others.  Some people probably told you there would be no more troubles in your life.  You walked away believing exactly what they said.  How wrong they were!  There will still be people who are jealous of you.  There will still be people who mock and ridicule you.  There will still be people who try there best to tear you down.  There will still be traps set in your path.   However, now that you have given your life completely to the Lord, you learn that the battle is not yours (2 Chronicles 20:15).

Since you have been walking in covenant with the Lord, have you seen drastic changes in your life?  Have you grown in grace and knowledge?  Have you impacted other people’s lives?  Are you blessing or hindering others?  Do you realize God sanctified (set apart) you for more than bragging rights?  He set you apart for His glory.  He desires to use you on your job, in your community, at your church, within your home, wherever else you may go.  He did not raise you up so gossip and rumors could consume your conversation.  Having said all of this, I have been assigned to ask you a question (and then conclude this devotional).  My friend, Have You Lost Your Zeal?

FYI: Zeal = eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of God; fervor.  Prayer for Today: Father, I pray for the recipient of today’s devotional.  I pray that the fire that burns within them will never go out.  I pray that they will always desire to do Your will.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Who Do You Have Around You?

Thursday, June 29th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Many times in life we find ourselves surrounded by people who act like our friends until something drastic occurs in our life.  When everything is/was going well in our life, we are/were surrounded by people who spoke highly of us.  When the first sign of battle appeared, the same people disappeared.  This morning, the Lord has commissioned me to come and present a question to you.  My friend,

Who Do You Have Around You?

Can the person in your circle really be trusted?  Has the Lord placed that person in your life, or are they on an assignment from hell?  Do your “friends” celebrate with you when the Lord blesses, or are they quick to question how you received it?  Do you sense jealousy when you are around this particular person?  Beloved, where God plans to take you, please be careful of your surroundings.  While Jesus had twelve disciples, on certain occasions He only took three of the twelve (Peter, James, and John.)  Has God told you there are too many people around you (Remember Gideon’s situation – Judges 7)?   Prayer for Today: Father, I pray that You will expose those persons who do not mean us any good.  Increase our discern to see who You have sent in our life and who the enemy has sent in our life.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Keep Him First In All Things!

Wednesday, June 28th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Today, I wonder if you remembered to tell the Lord, “thank you” for watching over you as you slept last night?  Were you so preoccupied with getting to work that you forgot to take time to let God know how much you appreciate Him?  Were you so focused on applying your make up, ironing your clothes, getting the children to summer camp, that you forgot to offer God grateful praise?  So often throughout our day we become so focused on keeping our same routine until we forget the most important ingredient for the day.  We become so committed to following the traditions of man that we unconsciously block God out of our daily tasks.  How did you get where you are in your life?  How did you achieve the success you enjoy today?  How did you make it through the night when the enemy set demonic attacks against you?  It was the Lord’s doing!

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  As you read the first paragraph were you convicted?  Were you the one who forgot to stop and say, “thank you?”  Were you the one who organized your day minute by minute until you wrote God out of the schedule?  It is important for each of us to realize where we are could not happen if the Lord had not made it possible.  No matter how much you think you know, your knowledge is limited.  No matter how much people applaud you, their claps are temporary.  My friend, Keep Him First In All Things!  Do not allow the enemy or anyone to make you think life is possible without the Lord.  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  All these things will be added unto you after you seek first the kingdom of God.  The blessings always come after the obedience.  Allow me to ask you one question: Is God waiting on you to make the first move?

My brother, my sister, Keep Him First In All Things!  Never make any decision without consulting the Lord for guidance.  Just because someone makes it appear wonderful does not mean it is genuine.  Just because something looks great does not mean it is from the Lord.  Beloved, be not deceived by the tactics of the enemy.  The Bible declares in Psalms 42:1 – As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  Never lose your desire for more of the Lord.  Never take the Lord for granted in your life.  Never allow flesh to puff you up.  You must learn to seek the Lord.  You must learn to converse with the Lord.  The Bible declares in Isaiah 55:6 – Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.  In whatever you do in life, Keep Him First In All Things!  Prayer for Today: Father, before I make any decisions help me to always call upon You.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

While You Try To Figure It Out .

Tuesday, June 27th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself surrounded by people who did not believe God the same way you did?  While they were happy with things the way they were, you desired more from the Lord.  While they grew comfortable with life, you became restless with the norm.  While they stopped expecting mighty things, you always expected God to do something awesome.  Have you ever experienced people who did not believe in the power of God’s Word?  They read the Bible because it was the “right” thing to do, but they did not apply the Word to their daily life.  They could quote scriptures but when it came time to walk out what they took in, they did not believe.  They could quickly offer scriptures to you when you needed encouragement, but they were slow to recite the same scriptures when they experienced challenges in life.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  To know something and to believe something are two different things.  To know of someone and to know someone are two different things.  While it is good to read the Word of God (Bible), it will not help you if you refuse to believe in the Word of God and apply it to your life.  God gave us His Word on purpose.  It is not by accident that Paul says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God – (2 Timothy 3:16).”  My friend, While You Try To Figure It Out … God Already Worked it Out!  The situation you currently face has been worked out already.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.  Every circumstance we face in life has already been worked out from the end to the beginning.  What do you think Jesus meant when He said, “It Is Finished? (John 19:30)”  The matter is already handled.

My brother, my sister, what are you still trying to figure out?  What are you still battling with today?  What lie has the enemy spoken to you?  While You Try To Figure It Out … God Already Worked it Out!  Beloved, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).  We are over-comers in Christ Jesus our Lord.  The Bible declares in Philippians 1:6  Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:  God has not chosen you to leave you in the pit.  He has not chosen you to turn His back on you.  You are special to the Lord.  The situation, or dilemma or circumstance that consumes your mind each day has already been worked out by the Blood of Jesus.  Prayer for Today: Father, You have completed the work in me.  I walk as the victor and not the victim.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

He Can Work It Out!

Monday, June 26th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Are you currently experiences trying times in your life?  Are you currently faced with challenging decisions that no one else can respond to but you?  Are you currently stuck between a rock and a hard place?  Are you currently enduring unfamiliar territory?  Often in life there are times when we find ourselves in positions of uncertainty.  You have lived your life to the best of your abilities, but it appears as though things are out of control.  You have done the best you could with what you have but for some reason every thing still seems messed up.  You find yourself standing in the need of divine intervention.  There’s a need for God to step in immediately and fix the situation.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  In life we have trained ourselves to look as though every thing is going well.  We smile when we really want to break down crying.  We laugh when within there’s much pain.  We attempt to encourage others when in actuality we stand in need of encouragement.  To be in this position is awful.  We desire better days.  It appears as if no one really understands you or what you are going through.  You are crying out for help but no one seems to hear you.  Sound familiar?  My friend, He Can Work It Out!  Your current situation is no secret to the Lord.  Your need for assistance is not hidden from the mighty power of God.  The impossible battle you face today can be won by the Only Wise God our Father.  The Bible declares in Luke 18:27 – And He said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.  Who told you things would not get better?  Who said you would never get back up again?  Who?

My brother, my sister, He Can Work It Out!  The Lord is able to work things out for you and your family.  He is able to fix what is broke.  He is able to heal what is hurting.  The Bible declares in Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Beloved, you are not alone.  The Lord is working things together for your good (Romans 8:28).  What are you currently dealing with this morning?  What dilemma are you faced with today?  Do you still trust the Master?  Do you still believe God performs miracles?  I challenge you to stand on the Word of God.  I challenge you to remain steadfast in the things of God.  Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.  No matter how awful things appear right now,He Can Work It Out! Prayer for Today: Father, help me during this time in my life.  I believe You are working it out.  I surrender it over to You.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

When Man Says No

Friday, June 23rd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  When was the last time you were told you could not do it?  When was the last time a friend or an enemy told you the assignment was to difficult for someone like you to accomplish?  When was the last time man tried to break your spirit by taking away the very thing(s) you worked so hard to have?  When was the last time the cares of this world left you beaten, battered, and bruised?  When was the last time you cried because you could not understand what was going on?  When was the last time you needed a friend or a family member to encourage you in the Lord?  When was the last time you had to encourage yourself?  Some times in life there appear times when we have more questions than answers.  Times when going on seems impossible.  Times when the evil doers seem to prosper and the God followers are not (Psalms 37).  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  There are times when situations arise that you were not prepared to face.  There are times when you may be caught off guard.  However, just because it caught you off guard does not mean God was not aware.  Every situation in your life is seen by the eyes of God.  There are no hidden secrets or plans that God is not aware of in your life.  My friend, When Man Says No … God is not defeated.  Just because someone set a trap for you does not mean God will fall in that trap.  Just because someone hurt your feelings with harsh words does not mean it will work on the Lord.  What am I saying to you?  Simply this, the attacks that man throw at you will never work on the Lord.  The Bible declares in Genesis 18:14 – Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life …  Man’s denial of you does not hinder God’s approval of you.  God does not need man, but man definitely needs God.  If that blessing is yours, God will make sure you get it and no one else.

My brother, my sister, today walk in the victory and assurance of God.  You are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Do not live your life hoping that man applauds or approves you.  It is not necessary.  It is not important.  Only what you do for Christ will last anyway.  When Man Says No … God can still say yes.  The Bible declares in 1 Corinthians 1:27 – But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; Beloved, many things you accomplish today were not approved by man.  Man did not think you could achieve it.  But the Lord knows all that He has placed inside of you.  There’s an anointing within you that stirs up when others say you cannot do something.  You are divinely selected by the hand of God to accomplish great works.  When Man Says No … God is still in control.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to live my life to please and honor You.  Man’s approval of me is not a necessity because I live my life for You.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

He Will Fight For You!

Thursday, June 22nd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself in a position where everything seemed to be going wrong?  After all the years of sacrifice and dedication, you are now being treated less than a person.  Those who came after you are receiving more opportunities and privileges than you.  The attacks and traps have increased against you.  Lies and vicious rumors have been spread about you.  Your name and character have been assassinated by jealous people.  Have you ever found yourself in a position where you needed someone to defend you?  False accusations and false reports where destroying every thing you worked hard to create.  Your integrity and Godly morals were now being prosecuted.  The same people who encouraged you before now eagerly design plans to destroy you.  Can you relate to the scenarios addressed above?  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Have you ever cried yourself to sleep at night because things seemed out of control?  Have you ever had people mistreat you because you would not bow down to them?  Have you ever had your marriage, your job, your ministry, or your family threatened because you would not submit to the acts of others who did not honor the Lord?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, this morning’s devotion is for you.  The Lord has sent me to encourage you.  The Lord has noticed all you have endured.  My friend, He Will Fight For You!  All that you have endured over this period of time, the Lord is handling things for you.  This situation is in the right hands now.  The Bible declares in 2 Chronicles 20:15 – … Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.  After all that you have endured the Lord wants you to know that the battle is not your battle.  He will defend you.  He will rise up and protect you.

My brother, my sister, what have you endured over the past few months?  What dilemma have you experienced?  What situation have you encountered that made you think you could not make it out?  Beloved, He Will Fight For You!  The Lord will be your banner in the time of war.  He will protect you against the enemy and all the lies created.  He will restore unto you every thing taken or stolen from you.  Whatever you loss due to deception and evil deeds, the Lord will grant it back unto you.  The Bible declares in Joshua 1:7 – Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.  Your assignment today is to remain faithful to the commandments God has placed before you.  You must allow God the opportunity to fight on your behalf.  You shall recover from this.  You shall no longer be the victim but the victor.  Prayer for Today: Father, I trust in You.  I know that You will fight for me.  I stand on Your promises and ask that You fulfill Your will in this matter.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

Can God Trust You With The Anointing?

Wednesday, June 21st, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  As I was meditating this morning, the Lord presented this question to me and charged me to present it to you.  In your life and even your ministry, Can God Trust You With The Anointing?

Before you give a quick response, think back over your life and see if you have been trustworthy with what God has placed within you.

There’s A Praise In You

Tuesday, June 20th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Are you currently experiencing a challenge in your life that desires to overtake you?  For some apparent reason you know the situation is greater than you but it cannot overthrow you.  From every angle the attacks are coming but you still remain steadfast and immovable.  The enemy has sent what he could send.  He has thrown what he could throw.  He has said what he could say.  However, everything he has tried has all backfired.  Are you currently enduring pain in your body or confusion in your mind?  You know things will get better soon but right now it appears so far away.  Each day you encourage yourself in the Lord.  You know God will show up at the right time but in your current state things appear out of control.  As the tears lap your face you continuously remind yourself that God would never bring you this far to leave you.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  From the outside looking in, many people wonder how in the world you are still making it.  They know things are not going well (naturally) in your life.  It appears as if your business has been publicly displayed for the world to see.  Everyone is wondering how you are able to stand after every thing has been thrown at you.  The questions are mounting against you.  “How are you standing?”  They cannot understand how or why you are still smiling.  My friend, There’s A Praise In You!  There’s an inward praise that controls your outward behavior.  The Bible declares in Psalms 7:17 – I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.  After all you have been through you understand praise is the way into the presence of God.  Yes you are aware of the attacks against you.  Yes you see the traps set before you.  Yes you hear the lies and rumors about you.  Be that as it may, you also know God responds to the praises of His people.

My brother, my sister, There’s A Praise In You!  It’s a praise that will not allow you to be overtaken by depression and guilt.  It’s a praise that rebukes the plots and plans of the enemy.  It’s a praise that encourages your spirit.  It’s a praise that releases the shackles that once held you bound.  It’s a praise that fights off the imps and demons of the adversary.  The Bible declares in Psalms 100:4 – Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.  Beloved, the praise within you has become your weapon against life’s problems and dilemmas.  It has become an offense in the time of spiritual warfare.  Do you not know that God inhabits the praises of His people?  As your day unfolds, never lose sight of the praise within you.  The Bible declares in Psalms 34:1 – I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  Prayer for Today: Father, in the midst of whatever I go through, You have birthed a praise within me.  Thank you for giving me this weapon against the attacks.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!

You Are Not Alone!

Monday, June 19th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives we desire for God to use us in mighty ways.  There’s something special about us that will not allow us to sit back and remain passive.  Within you have a burning to walk out the purpose and plan God has ordained for your life.  Your days and nights are spent asking God to show you what He wants from you.  Have you ever had family or friends tell you God could not use you?  For some apparent reason they believed God could not clean you up.  The more they talked, the more you believed it was possible.  The more they questioned your abilities, the more you assured them it was not about you.  Have you ever had people laugh in your face because what you were believing God for seemed ridiculous?  Since you had enough faith to believe God for it others mocked and scorned.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  You must understand when you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior the attacks will not decrease.  The enemy will not turn and walk away from you.  The lies and vicious rumors will not diminish.  To be honest with you, all of the things may increase.  You might experience more challenges and assaults.  You might lose more friends and supporters.  You might endure times of loneliness and isolation.  However, in all that you are faced with, be encouraged.  My friend, You Are Not Alone!  You are not facing life alone.  You are not fighting off the enemy’s attacks by yourself.  The Bible declares in Hebrews 13:5 – … for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  During those times when it feels as if no one cares about you.  Or the times when you feel alone and overlooked.  Or the times when every thing around you is chaotic.  Be assured this one thing: God is ever present in your life.

My brother, my sister, what matter are you faced with this morning?  What challenge or dilemma are you dealing with?  What lie or rumor are you trying to overcome.  You Are Not Alone!  God will never allow anyone or anything to destroy you.  Even when things appear hectic in your life, God is still able to do exceeding abundantly above all you may ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).   Beloved, think about the lonely times in your life.  Think about the times when you wanted to give up but you could not.  Think about the many days you wanted to lay in bed because life was weighing you down.  How did you make it?  How did you overcome?  How did you persevere?  It was through the mighty power of God.  It was by the mercies of God.  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  You are where you are because God would not leave you alone.  Get up and walk in victory.  Prayer for Today: Father, thank You for always being there.  Thank You for being with me when things in my life appeared out of control.  I Love You.  In Jesus’ name … Amen!
