About The Meditations
| On Monday, July 7, 2003, God birth in me an assignment to bless His people through early morning meditations by way of e-mails. Never did I imagine many years later, God would still pour more Word in me to share. From the first day the assignment was given to me, until now, I have kept the same promise to God: “As long as you keep speaking, I will keep typing and e-mailing. When you stop speaking, I will stop typing and e-mailing.” Beloved, as you read the meditations, it is my prayer that they will bless you. |

How then shall they call upon Him, whom they do not believe? How shall they believe upon Him, whom they have not heard? How shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they preach, unless they first be sent! (Romans 10:14)Mr. Darrick D. McGhee, Sr. is an anomaly. He is a Blogger, a Pastor, a Lobbyist, and an entrepreneur. He is a blogger. Each weekday, he writes devotionals via his blog to encourage, challenge, and mature the reader(s), through his ministry, Meditation Moments with Pastor McGhee. Since 2003, he has been fortunate to provide the devotionals through his website and his social media page. He is the Founding Pastor of Bible Based Church in Tallahassee, Florida (launched in 2010). He has close to 25 years of preaching ministry experience. Prior to his current pastorate, he served as Associate Pastor at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Stanley L. Walker, Sr. In this capacity, he assisted with pastoral care, ministerial oversight, and leading both the church’s youth ministry and the collegiate and young adult ministry. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, he is an active registered lobbyist, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Johnson & Blanton, LLC. He has nearly 25 years of experience in state government and politics. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Executive Office of Governor Rick Scott. In this capacity, he was responsible for advocating and securing passage of the Governor’s legislative priorities. He ensured the proper and legal administration of the Governor’s legislative role throughout the legislative process and provided counsel and support to the Governor and other staff members regarding legislative and executive issues. In this role, Darrick also oversaw the Legislative Affairs Directors for each of the executive agencies. Before joining the Executive Office of Governor Rick Scott, he served in multiple senior leadership roles with the Department of Economic Opportunity. While at this agency, he was the interim Executive Director, Chief of Staff, and the Director of Legislative and Cabinet Affairs. He also served as Legislative Affairs Director for three additional state agencies: The Departments of Education, Business and Professional Regulation, and Elder Affairs respectively. These roles spanned over three gubernatorial Administrations: Governors Rick Scott, Charlie Crist, and Jeb Bush. As if pastoring and working in Florida’s political process was not enough, Pastor McGhee is also an entrepreneur. He is married to his college sweetheart, and they are blessed to have two children. He received his formal education at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU). Here he earned his BA in Political Science and Religion (2000). Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of the Big Bend and The Children’s Movement. He is also a gubernatorial appointed Commissioner with the Florida Commission on Human Relations (Chair). Awards and Recognitions:
