Just Before Your Breakdown …

Thursday, August 31st, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself on the verge of giving up?  Things have become more than you are willing to handle.  Things have become more than you feel you can bear.  You have tried everything and everyone but to no avail.  Have you ever prayed for a better tomorrow but it seemed the same as yesterday?  You hoped a good night sleep would cause the problems to disappear but when you woke up the next morning, there was the same problem waiting on you.  You found yourself reaching for the bottle of alcohol or the bag of drugs.  Someone told you that was the answer.  Do you realize alcohol and drugs only relieves you of the problem temporarily?  God is not a temporary God.  He desires to give you permanent relief.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, Just Before Your Breakdown … God will send a breakthrough.  He knows when to step in and He knows how to step in.  He knows how much you can handle and He knows when the load has become too much for you to bear.  He knows everything about you.  Have you ever found yourself saying, “if one more thing goes wrong I am going to scream?”  The Lord knows how you feel.  It is not a coincident that God intervenes just when you needed Him the most.  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  If you can ever hold on, you can and will see the manifestation of God’s power.  The Lord is not worried about the size of your circumstance.  In the words of Bishop TD Jakes, “stop telling God about your problems, and start telling your problems about your God!”

My brother, my sister, what are you dealing with this morning?  What matter kept you walking the floors last night?  What dilemma causes you to toss and turn each day?  Do you realize this is not the Lord’s will for your life (Psalms 121:4)?  God desires for His children to have peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).  Yes there will be challenges along the way, but God will not suffer your foot to be moved (Psalms 121:3).  Beloved, Just Before Your Breakdown … God will send a breakthrough.  Just when the enemy tells you to curse God and die, the Lord will step in.  Just when friends and family walk away in doubt, the Lord will step in.  Just when the bank says no, the Lord will step in.  Just when tuition is due but money is low, the Lord will step in.  Just when everyone has forgotten about you, the Lord will step in.  Do not breakdown … breakthrough!  Prayer For Today: Father, please give me the strength to hold on and hold out!  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

There Is Still Hope!

Wednesday, August 30th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Many times in life we find ourselves rebounding from the mistakes we said we would never make again.  The places we said we would never go again, we find ourselves there.  The people we said we would never hang around again, we find ourselves around them.  The things we said we would never do again, we find ourselves doing.  In the beginning you were very sincere when you made the committment.  You had every intent on fulfilling the promise(s) you made.  Somewhere along the way you either fell away from your word or you just totally ignored it.  Whatever it was you found yourself back to square one, again.  A repeated cycle.  A repeated mess.  A repeated relationship.  A repeated promise.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  It can be very frustrating when you find yourself doing the same things over and over and over again.  Just like a hamster on a wheel, you are just running in place.  You are tired as a result of it but you soon realize no progress was ever made.  You thought things were looking better, but out of nowhere things changed.  With one step forward, life knocked you back two to three steps.  My friend, There Is Still Hope!  In everything we experience in life God desires for us to realize there is hope for better days.  Each day you wake to see a new day is a another day God is trying to show you He is still in control.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:24 – For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  Yes things appear dark all around you.  Yes many people have counted you out.  Yes you want to give up on yourself and life.  Yes you wish you could stay in bed all day.  However, you know you must face today.

My brother, my sister, what are you dealing with this morning?  What situation or dilemma are you stuck dealing with?  What relationship or friendship are you trying to fix today?  The Bible declares in Romans 15:4 – For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Beloved, There Is Still Hope!  There is hope for a turn-around.  There is hope for your current struggle to turn into a peaceful change.  There is hope for all things.  I do not know what you are going through today.  I do not know what causes you to cry.  I do not know the difficulties you experience.  These I do not know.  But I do know God is able to bear your load and mine.  I do know God is concerned about your daily activities.  I do know God can and will console you during your lowest points of life.  I do know God can change your surroundings.  I do know God is able to meet each of your needs without ever running out.  There Is Still Hope!  Do you believe it?  Prayer for Today: Father, You know exactly what I am facing today.  You know the pains and heartaches I bear.  I need Your help today.  Please help me.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Go Tell It!

Tuesday, August 29th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, each one of us have endured trying times in our lives.  Every day has not been a bed of roses.  We have lost several loved ones along the way.  We have endured nights where we wet our pillows with tears.  We have experienced close friends walking out of our lives.  We’ve had people tell us we would never be able to recover from the blow life hit us with.  Some have overcome marital infidelities.  Some have bounced back from financial hardships and the deep hole of debt.  No matter what it was, we all have experienced something that caused us to drop to our knees.  With all of this in mind, this morning’s devotional is my challenge to you.

Beloved, it is time for us, as children of the Most High God, to open our mouths and tell of the Lord’s goodness.  It is time for us to, Go Tell It!  Tell what you might ask?  It is time for us to tell others how faithful the Lord has been to each one of us.  We have overcome, not because we were “so good” or “so holy,” but because the Lord brought us out.  Do you realize there are people around you who are currently experiencing what God brought you out of?  The Bible declares in Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  Do you realize the more we testify about where the Lord brought us from, the more glory, honor, and praise we give to the Lord?  Somebody needs to here from you.  Someone needs to know there is hope.  Someone needs to hear that God still hears and answers prayer.

My friend, Go Tell It!  Go tell everyone, everywhere what Lamentations 3:22 states:  It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  Prayer for Today: Father, wherever You send me, I will tell others about Your excellent power.  I will tell others about Your faithfulness toward mankind.  Here am I Lord, send me!  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

When Times Appear Dark?

Monday, August 28th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever lost someone who was very dear to your heart?  Maybe this person was a spouse, future spouse, best friend, relative, or someone you knew at church.  While we know death will take place, it is never easy to get use to it.  You never imagine your life without this person by your side.  This is the same person who believed in you when no one else did.  This is the same person who consistently encouraged you when you wanted to give up on yourself and life.  Have you ever found yourself mad at God because you felt He let you down?  You are mad because you feel God dealt you a bad hand.  The questions that often are accompanied by pain begin to leak out of your mouth: “Why me?”  “What did (s)he do to deserve this?” “Where were you when we needed you?”  You know it was not the Lord’s fault but pain causes you to blame someone.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Each of us endure trying times in life.  As a matter of fact, Job said it best in Job 14:1 – Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.  We never picture life causing us any challenges or tragedies.  We expect the “ever so often” arguments with family and friends.  Those we can handle, but we never imagine dark days.  My friend, what do you do When Times Appear Dark?  What do you do when getting out of the bed appears harder today than it did yesterday?  What do you do when crying is easier than ever before?  I rose up this morning, under the power of the Holy Spirit, to tell you that you shall LIVE!  I know it is hard, believe me I do, but there is still life to live.  There is still purpose to fulfill.  There is still lives to impact for the glory of God.  There is still sinners to save for the Kingdom of God.

My brother, my sister, what are you going through today?  Who have you lost in your life?  Does life appear over for you now?  I beg the differ.  You shall not die but live.  The pain is there, but God still has work for you to do.  Beloved, what do you do When Times Appear Dark?  You continue to trust and depend on God for strength to make it through each day.  The Bible declares in  2 Corinthians 12:9 – And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness … At your lowest point in life, God is at His strongest.  This is not to say that God has weak points.  No, no, it is to inform you that God is now able to carry you through the dark days of life.  He is able to hide you in shadow of His wings.  This is not the time to live defeated, but the time to call on the name of the Lord.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me overcome the times when it appears dark in my life. Help me to trust totally in Your power and strength.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

The Excuses Stop Here!

Friday, August 25th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever known someone who makes excuses about everything?  No matter what you ask them to do they always make up a reason not to do it.  Have you ever been surrounded by coworkers who want advancement but offer no service?  They always complain about the office but never offer solutions to the problems.  Have you ever been overlooked because of your outer appearance?  Since you did not fill the “description”, you were looked over.  Have you ever wanted to do something but talked yourself out of it?  You never saw it done before so fear causes you to change your mind.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, The Excuses Stop Here!  If you ever want to enjoy the blessings of God, you must learn to move beyond the excuses.  The Lord is aware of your mistakes, but He still desires to use you.  He knows your limitations, but He still desires to use you.  The Bible declares in Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  When the Lord called you, He called you as you were.  The Excuses Stop Here!  The excuse that you are not ready to come must end today.  In spite of all you have done in your life, God has remained faithful toward you (Lamentations 3:23).  When you were in your sins, God remained in-love with you (Romans 5:8).  After all He has done for you, the least you could do is stop the excuses.  Stop creating reasons to avoid living for Him.  The Excuses Stop Here!

My brother, my sister, what reasons are you using to prevent yourself from serving the Lord?  What if God used the same excuse when it was time to answer your prayers?  The Excuses Stop Here!  The excuses you use prevent God from working mighty in your life.  Excuses place a wall between you and the Lord.  The Bible declares in Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.  Beloved, the enemy desires for you to use excuses when it is time to praise and magnify the Lord.  The enemy will use anything to keep you from serving the Master … anything.  You must become determined to quench every excuse.  God deserves more.  The Excuses Stop Here!  Challenge for the Day: Make up in your mind that you will not allow anything nor anyone to stop you from living for the Lord.

NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

Scripture Reading for the Day: Romans 8:38-39

It’s Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!

Thursday, August 24th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives we face challenges that we were not prepared to face.  We experience unforeseen circumstances without any prior notification.  Our investments and planning appear wasteful.  You tried to do everything right, but the pressures of life still caused you heartache.  The person you thought would always be there is now unavailable.  The places you loved to visit are now out of business.  The things you loved to do are now unsatisfying.  Yesterday’s excitements have no affect on today’s sorrows.  With one phone call everything appears out of order now.  Your dreams and desires seem unreachable.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Have you ever felt like there was more pain than health?  Have you have ever felt like there was more sorrow than joy?  Have you wondered how you were going to get back up from this one?  In times past you would bounce back with no problem.  But this latest situation has taken more out of you than ever before.  What do you do when everyone seems determined to destroy you?  You have been standing (as best as you can.)  What do you do when the questions of life are raging in your mind?  My friend, It’s Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!  Yes, you are known as a fighter.  Everyone can count on you.  However, there will come a time in each of our lives when our strength will not be enough (Job 14:1).  The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 – And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

My brother, my sister, there will come a time when all you will know how to do is stand still.  You will have tried everything.  You will have called on everyone.  You will have thought of everything.  To no avail!  Be not dismayed.  It is at our lowest points of life that God desires to show Himself the strongest.  Beloved, Its Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!  The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:10 – Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.  Until we have run out of natural options, we will never truly trust in an eternal God.  Until we have run into the wall, we will never truly turn to the Lord.  Until we deny our flesh, we will never truly worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.  Standing is what is required of us, but how you stand does not matter, who you stand on does.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to always stand on You.  Your Word is true and it is dependable.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Are You Ready For It?

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever felt like giving up on your calling in life?  For some reason you felt unqualified, unappreciated, unworthy, and unnoticed (these are the reasons why God chose you.)  As you look back over your life, you realize the potential you have to ruin the assignment God has given to you.  Fear and worry have begun to consume your mind and control your behavior.  Have you ever had people question your calling?  They were not convinced that God really called you.  They tried everything possible to turn you away.  They interrogated you.  They investigated your past.  They zoned in our your mistakes and shortcomings.  Have you ever wondered why God chose you?  No one seems to want you around, but you know God has specifically called you for such a time as this.  Quitting appears easy, but you know God has charged you with an assignment that cannot be avoided.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  The Lord has instructed me to tell you something that will change your life and your mindset. Are You Ready For It?  Beloved,

Man Did Not Choose You, God Did!

My brother, my sister, stop trying to please people.  Your calling is directly from the Lord.  The Bible declares in John 15:16 – Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, he may give it you.  Today, walk in the assurance that man cannot reverse what God has blessed.

Let It Go!

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, God has spoken a specific word into my spirit.  A word that each of us must take heed to.  Are you trying to change someone?  Are you trying to figure things out after you promised to give it to the Lord?  Are you trying to make ends meet without asking for the Lord’s help?  Are you trying to make people like, appreciate and accept you?  Are you compromising your walk with the Lord for the sake of a friendship?  Are you trying to put the pieces back together again?  Are you holding on to some thing or someone that the Lord told you to release?  If yes is your answer, this morning’s devotional is just for you.

Beloved, the Lord raised me up this morning to tell you ONE thing.

Let It Go!

Where Can I Find Help?

Monday, August 21st, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever experienced sleepless nights where you walked the floor worrying about the uncertainties of tomorrow?  No matter how much you tried to encourage yourself it seemed as if things were not getting better for you.  No matter how hard you tried to get yourself together, the spirit of doubt had consumed your thoughts.  Have you ever wondered how things would get better?  Your current surroundings appeared bleak and cloudy.  Nothing seemed clear.  Your future appeared in jeopardy.  Have you ever asked, “Why me?”  You know God knows what is best for you but there were times when you felt overwhelmed by life and the troubles it brought (Job 14:1).  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, I have been there.  I have been in positions where I wondered how things could or would get better.  There have been many nights where I shed tears.  There have been times when I wondered does anyone understand me?  I know you can relate.  You wonder how much more must I take.  You wonder why everyone around you continues to receive blessings, while you stand in anticipation.  On the outside you are smiling, but within you are screaming (hollering) for refuge.  You begin to wonder, Where Can I Find Help?  Child of God, the help you need comes through Jesus Christ.  The Bible declares in Psalms 121:1-2 – I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  The help you desire, can and only comes from above.

My brother, my sister, what are you dealing with this morning?  What have you been crying over?  What have you been worried about?  What situation do you spend all of your energy trying to fix?   Who are you trying to change?  Beloved, God is ready and willing to help you.  He knows what you stand in need of.  He knows what you need, when you need it.  Yes, it gets difficult at times.  Yes, there are days of stress and strain.  Yes, there are times when you wonder, Where Can I Find Help?  The Bible declares in Psalms 121:8 – The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.  Today, allow no job, no friend, no family member, no church member, no past mistakes, no financial setback, or no false story about you to destroy you relationship with the Lord.  Your Helper is prepared to help you out.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me with _____ !  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, do you realize God has angels watching over you each and every day?  Do you realize when you are sleeping, the angels of God are still working on your behalf?  Do you realize how special you are to the Lord?  Do you understand how important your welfare is to the Lord?  The Bible declares in Psalms 91:11 – For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.  It is God who has assigned His angels to keep you in all your ways.  What are you dealing with today?  What situation or dilemma are you stuck in the middle of?  What trouble, heartache or pain are you currently experiencing in life?

The Lord has raised me up this morning to sow this important ingredient and this one important scripture into your life.  Something Just For You!  My friend,

Before You Noticed The Problem, God Supplied The Answer!

The Bible declares in Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  Today, walk in total dependence of God.
