It’s Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives we face challenges that we were not prepared to face.  We experience unforeseen circumstances without any prior notification.  Our investments and planning appear wasteful.  You tried to do everything right, but the pressures of life still caused you heartache.  The person you thought would always be there is now unavailable.  The places you loved to visit are now out of business.  The things you loved to do are now unsatisfying.  Yesterday’s excitements have no affect on today’s sorrows.  With one phone call everything appears out of order now.  Your dreams and desires seem unreachable.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Have you ever felt like there was more pain than health?  Have you have ever felt like there was more sorrow than joy?  Have you wondered how you were going to get back up from this one?  In times past you would bounce back with no problem.  But this latest situation has taken more out of you than ever before.  What do you do when everyone seems determined to destroy you?  You have been standing (as best as you can.)  What do you do when the questions of life are raging in your mind?  My friend, It’s Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!  Yes, you are known as a fighter.  Everyone can count on you.  However, there will come a time in each of our lives when our strength will not be enough (Job 14:1).  The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 – And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

My brother, my sister, there will come a time when all you will know how to do is stand still.  You will have tried everything.  You will have called on everyone.  You will have thought of everything.  To no avail!  Be not dismayed.  It is at our lowest points of life that God desires to show Himself the strongest.  Beloved, Its Not How You Stand, But Who You Stand On!  The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:10 – Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.  Until we have run out of natural options, we will never truly trust in an eternal God.  Until we have run into the wall, we will never truly turn to the Lord.  Until we deny our flesh, we will never truly worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.  Standing is what is required of us, but how you stand does not matter, who you stand on does.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to always stand on You.  Your Word is true and it is dependable.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Scripture Reading for Today: Isaiah 55:11

May God Bless you at Your point of need!
