When People Disappoint You?

Thursday, November 16th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever had friends you thought would always be there for you but at the first sight of tragedy they vacated the premises?  One day they’re right beside you, but the very next day they’re no where to be found.  One day you’re sitting around planning your futures, but the next day their plans exclude you.  Have you ever shared your personal life stories with a family member or friend only to later hear your business all over the church, the job, the neighborhood, and/or the beauty shop (barber shop)?  You specifically asked that no one tell this information to anyone else.  Now you are in a position where everyone knows your inner feelings.  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, what do you do When People Disappoint You?  How do you handle the times when the people you trusted the most turn their back on you?  How do you recover from bruises and scars left by people you would give your life to defend?  The Bible declares in Psalms 118:8 – It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  There are times in our lives when family members and friends, we love and adore so much, will break our hearts.  Whether intentional or not, there are times when you find yourself “all by yourself!”  Not because you chose to make it this way, but because of the disappointments you experienced while dealing with people.  You must understand man makes a lot of promises, which sound good, but the fulfillment of them are never kept.  Be careful not to place your trust in people who have the same potential to fall as you do.

My brother, my sister, what do you do When People Disappoint You?  How do you handle knowing your closest friend has been spreading nasty rumors about you?  How do you handle being rejected by people you try so hard to help?  How do you handle these matters?  The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Beloved, there will never be a friend as faithful, loyal, and loving as the Lord Jesus Christ.  While many people may argue this point, I know it to be true.  Jesus is the only friend you can tell your deepest, darkest secrets to and know one ever finds out about them.  He is the only one able to handle whatever mood you are in, matter you are facing, and mountain you need moved.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to know You are a friend that will never disappoint me.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

When Life Disappoints You?

Wednesday, November 15th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself in a position where everything you planned fell apart?  You had everything in order and organized accordingly, but one bad report or one bad phone call threw everything out of place.  Unforeseen and unexpected, but it happened.  Have you ever planned for the future but something so tragic occurred that threatened your previous plans?  What you prepared for and what actually happened were two different scenarios.  Have you ever shared beautiful wedding vows with the person of your dreams only to later find yourself at the point of divorce because the vows have not been upheld?  The words sounded so good to your ears but the actions and promises never followed.  Have you ever wondered if things would get better?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, what do you do When Life Disappoints You?  How do you handle the hurdles and obstacles, which come with life?  Do you give up and surrender or do you stand still and declare the Word of God?  Do you run and hide or do you rebuke and denounce every demonic assault?  What do you do?  The Bible declares in Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  You must understand just because life disappoints you does not mean the plan God has for your life now ends.  Sometimes disappointments push you further into your destiny and purpose.  If you never taste pain, hurt, betrayal, or disappointment by man, you will never truly appreciate the love of God.

My brother, my sister, what do you do When Life Disappoints You?  It is at that point you should seek the Lord for His instructions.  Sometimes life disappoints us because we place our trust in things we thought we had under control.  Beloved, God will never allow any person, any place or any thing to provide for you the way He desires to do so.  The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:9 – A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.  Disappointment will always follow when we attempt to do things our own way and not surrender to the way of God.  Disappointment is a feeling of dissatisfaction that results when your expectations are not realized.  Do not allow disappointment to rob you of the purpose God has for you.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to overcome all disappoints I experience in life.  No matter what happens, Your plan for my life is perfect.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

When You Pray …

Tuesday, November 14th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, when you pray do you believe God is able to do what it is you stand in need of?  Do you believe the Lord can handle whatever you bring to Him?  Do you believe He can do anything but fail?  Are your prayers spent telling God about your problems or praising Him for His power?  Do you find yourself crying about matters that the Lord said He would take care of in due time?  Do you often doubt God hears your prayers?  Do you wonder if God has forgotten about you?  Do you sometimes feel as if everything around you is chaotic?  Sometimes, do you think one more bad report will push you over the edge?

Beloved, if you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this morning’s devotional is for you.  I have been sent to remind you of two important things:

  1. When You Pray always acknowledge that you are talking to God (Genesis 18:14); and
  2. When You Pray always close in the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12).

When you acknowledge that you are talking to God, you are sending a message to the devil.  The message you send tells Him you are talking to your Father about the matter he has attacked you with.  When you close in the name of Jesus, you are placing that request in Jesus’ hands to handle as He sees fit.

God Foreknew!

Monday, November 13th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives we wonder, where is God?  What is He doing?  Why hasn’t He responded to me?  Is He mad at me?  We find ourselves surrounded by unfamiliar and uncomfortable circumstances.  Everywhere you look there seems to be an attack arising.  Whether it’s on your job, in your finances, in your marriage, with your children, in your ministry, your home, or even in your faith.  Attacks on every hand.  No matter what you do or where you go there appears to be more against you there for you.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and strengthen you in the Lord.  No matter what you find yourself [currently] in, God is much bigger and greater than it.  My friend, God Foreknew! This means, before your problem, your storm, your dilemma, arose, God was already there.  Before you realized there was something wrong, God was present.  Before you cried out to Him, He responded with a way of escape.  The Bible declares in Genesis 1:1In the beginning God created … Whatever you are faced with today, God has already created a means of escape and/or protection.  He has gone before you to straighten out every crooked road.  Whether you realize it or not, God sees all and knows all.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:29 – For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Foreknow = to have previous knowledge of: know beforehand especially by paranormal means or by revelation

My brother, my sister, God has not forgotten you.  He hears each prayer you pray.  He wipes every tear your release.  What makes you think He has disappeared from you?  The Bible declares in Hebrews 13:5 – Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  Beloved, God Foreknew!  Relax, God is in control.  Point to Remember:  If He was God enough then, He is God enough now! Prayer for Today: Father, please give me the understanding to know you have everything under control.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Do Not Be Fooled By Things!

Friday, November 10th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  In spite of how bad things may have been in your life it is great to be a child of God.  Even when there appears to be more problems than solutions, more questions than answers, and more tears than smiles, it’s still great to be a child of God.  No more what other people say or think about you and your personal walk with the Lord, it is great to be a child of God.  So often in life we define how blessed we are by the materialistic possessions we enjoy each day.  The more we have, the more blessed we think we are.  To the contrary, the reason we are blessed is not because we have many things.  No, no, no!  We are blessed because of our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  The things come as a result of our relationship with Jesus.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, Do Not Be Fooled By Things!  Today you can have many things and tomorrow you could be begging.  Today you can be driving the best, but tomorrow you could be hoping to catch a ride.  Today you can be dressing in the famous styles, but tomorrow you could be borrowing from someone else.  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  The material things we enjoy are defined as the ‘things that shall be added unto you.’  They only come when you seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.  Many people are living with no understanding of God’s blessing system.  The blessings come through intimacy with the Lord, not through separation from the Lord.

My brother, my sister, Do Not Be Fooled By Things!  You must be very careful to make sure you do not become fooled by things.  Many people enjoy things so much until they begin to worship the gift (idol) and not the Giver of the gifts.  The Bible declares in Exodus 20:3 – Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  Beloved, have you become consumed by things?  Are you doing whatever it takes to possess more things?  You must remember, as quick as you get it, can be as quick as you lose it.  Be not deceived, there will never be any thing more important than the Lord Jesus Christ.  Prayer for Today: Father, forgive me for ever becoming consumed with the possessions of life.  Allow my heart and mind to always long after You.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

A Blessed People

Thursday, November 9th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, do you realize we are A Blessed People?

  • No matter what we see on television or read in the paper, we are A Blessed People!
  • No matter what the stereotypes and statistics say, we are A Blessed People!
  • Even when people turn their backs on us, we are A Blessed People!
  • In spite of the trials and tribulations we face in life, we are A Blessed People!
  • In spite of all the negative rumors you heard against you, we are A Blessed People!
  • Even when your current situation does not compliment the promise God made you, we are A Blessed People!
  • When it seems as if you have more going against you than for you, we are A Blessed People!
  • When people laugh in your face and mock your belief in God, we are A Blessed People!
  • When no one believes in your vision, we are A Blessed People!
  • When your flesh desires to quit but your spirit will not give up, we are A Blessed People!
  • When people walk away during the lowest points of your life, we are A Blessed People!

Why are we a blessed people?  We are blessed not because of the materialistic possessions we have.  Not because of temporary things we own.  We are blessed because through all that we have been through God is still on our side.  This is the reason we are A Blessed People!  After all we endured in life, God stayed when no one else did.  He comforted us when no one else could be found.  Beloved, we are blessed like that!

Take No Thought For Tomorrow!

Wednesday, November 8th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Do you realize how blessed you are today?  Do you understand God has His hand upon your life?  Do you understand the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord?  Can you see how the Lord continues to orchestrate events in your life?  Just think about the many doors of opportunity God continuously allows to open for you.  You did not think it was because of your educational background … did you?  Please do not be mistaken, the Lord does not bless us based on the accolades man looks for.  God can use and bless a person with no degree and no formal education.  He can birthed His Word within this person’s spirit like never before.  The things man seeks after often times are not the things God focuses on.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, Take No Thought For Tomorrow!  Everything you will ever need God has and will make provision for you.  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:25-26 – Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?  The same God who provides for the needs of birds, who do not sow, is the same God who will make greater provision for you, who’s made in His image.  My friend, you must never depend on your connections and degrees to do what only the Lord is able to do for you.

Many people fall victims to worry because they focus on what is needed for tomorrow, while never enjoying the time they have right now.  Believe me, tomorrow’s bread has been supplied.  The daily bread and anointing you need to face and endure tomorrow has been made available for tomorrow.  Do not ruin today worried about tomorrow’s concerns.  Take No Thought For Tomorrow!  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:31 – Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Beloved, remember this: Today is the day you worried about yesterday and tomorrow will be today in due time.

Do You Believe?

Tuesday, November 7th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  I have been charged to find out what it is you believe.

  • Do you believe God has something special in store for you?
  • Do you believe the Lord has a specific assignment with your name on it?
  • Do you believe the Lord desires to use you for His glory?
  • Do you believe today will be better than yesterday?
  • Do you believe prayer is the key and faith unlocks the doors?
  • Do you believe repentance comes before receiving?
  • Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God?
  • Do you believe you can make it into Heaven without confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior?
  • Do you believe satan is a defeated foe?
  • Do you believe the Lord has the final word, no matter what the doctors say?
  • Do you believe by Jesus stripes you are healed?
  • Do you believe people are determined to see you fall?
  • Do you believe you can overcome every trap and snare sent against you?
  • Do you believe you are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath?
  • Do you believe you are a lender and not a borrower?
  • Do you believe you are blessed in the city and blessed in the field?
  • Do you believe God can take your mess and mold it into greatness?

My brother, my sister, in spite of what others say, Do You Believe?

Are We Connected?

Monday, November 6th, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  There are times in each of our lives that we must evaluate the people surrounding us.  While we love to have people within our inner circle, it is imperative for us to make sure each person around me has been placed there by God and not because of my fear of being alone.  In life there will be times when you will experience lonely periods as well as discomfort from within.  You will desire to do the same things you were able to do before but your spirit man will reject it.  During the times when your spirit is willing but your flesh is weak you must make sure the people around you are such that they can uplift you in prayer and not encourage you to sin against God.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, it is time to ask that one question to everyone around you.  The question that will determine if people in your life are there for a reason, a season, or a lifetime (purpose).  What is the question?  The question is … Are We Connected?  To be connected means to join or fasten together usually by something intervening.  At this point in your life you no longer need one-night stands but covenant partners in the Lord.  People who pray for you fervently and faithfully.  People who hold you accountable for the actions you perform and responsible for the assignments entrusted to you.  The Bible declares in 1 Samuel 18:1 – And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

My brother, my sister, do you have any person in your life willing to endure the fire with you?  Do you have anyone in your life who sows into your spirit?  Beloved, there will be times when the entire crowd is screaming your name.  They will applaud everything you do.  But there will also be times when the same crowd will criticize and scorn you.  They will try their best to tear you down.  During these times, do you have any brothers and/or sisters connected with you in the spirit?  Better yet, are you connected to anyone in the spirit?  The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.   Are We Connected? Prayer for Today: Father, please show me the people who are connected to me no matter what happens.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing!

Friday, November 3rd, 2023

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, I have been sent to forewarn you about the people and the things that are currently in your life.  How knowledgeable are you regarding the people in your life?  How familiar are you with the things in your life?  How certain are you about the places you visit?  Do you realize there are attacks sent against you each day but many times they come disguised?  Without spiritual discernment, many times you will fall prey to the enemies traps and schemes.  The Bible declares in Matthew 7:15 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves

Beloved, I come this morning to tell you one important thing, beware of:

Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing!

These are people who smile in your face, but oftentimes their stabbing you in the back.  These are people who applaud when you do good and criticize at the first sight of failure.  These are things that are set up to make sure you fall face first.
