When People Disappoint You?

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever had friends you thought would always be there for you but at the first sight of tragedy they vacated the premises?  One day they’re right beside you, but the very next day they’re no where to be found.  One day you’re sitting around planning your futures, but the next day their plans exclude you.  Have you ever shared your personal life stories with a family member or friend only to later hear your business all over the church, the job, the neighborhood, and/or the beauty shop (barber shop)?  You specifically asked that no one tell this information to anyone else.  Now you are in a position where everyone knows your inner feelings.  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, what do you do When People Disappoint You?  How do you handle the times when the people you trusted the most turn their back on you?  How do you recover from bruises and scars left by people you would give your life to defend?  The Bible declares in Psalms 118:8 – It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  There are times in our lives when family members and friends, we love and adore so much, will break our hearts.  Whether intentional or not, there are times when you find yourself “all by yourself!”  Not because you chose to make it this way, but because of the disappointments you experienced while dealing with people.  You must understand man makes a lot of promises, which sound good, but the fulfillment of them are never kept.  Be careful not to place your trust in people who have the same potential to fall as you do.

My brother, my sister, what do you do When People Disappoint You?  How do you handle knowing your closest friend has been spreading nasty rumors about you?  How do you handle being rejected by people you try so hard to help?  How do you handle these matters?  The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:24 – A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Beloved, there will never be a friend as faithful, loyal, and loving as the Lord Jesus Christ.  While many people may argue this point, I know it to be true.  Jesus is the only friend you can tell your deepest, darkest secrets to and know one ever finds out about them.  He is the only one able to handle whatever mood you are in, matter you are facing, and mountain you need moved.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me to know You are a friend that will never disappoint me.  In the name of Jesus … Amen!

Scripture Reading for Today: John 15:15-16

May God Bless you at Your point of need!
