Always Keep God First!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever noticed how we spend much of our time trying to please people?  Most of our energy is wasted trying to make sure everyone accepts us.  We say what we think they want to hear.  We dress the way we think they want us to dress.  Whatever it takes to please people, we are willing to do it.  Have you ever wondered how God feels when He sees us catering to people but neglecting him?  I am concerned about our ways.  Since when do we feel the need to please man before pleasing God?  Since when do we feel obligated to pamper man’s ego?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Do you realize no matter what you do to please man, he will always find a reason to gripe and moan?  My grandmother always told me, “you can have ten friends.  You will successfully please nine of the ten, but one of the them will find something to complain about.”  As children of God, we are commanded to love everyone, but we are not commanded to sell our souls for friendship.  My friend, Always Keep God First!  No matter how awful things appear today, make sure you never compromise your relationship with the Lord for a temporary moment of pleasure.  God is able to make any situation turn around.  The Bible declares in Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

My brother, my sister, who are you living your life to please?  Who do you spend your energy attempting to please?  Who’s your God/god?  If you seriously evaluate your life you will notice who gets all your time.  Please understand, whomever or whatever you spend the most time with is your God or god!  The Bible declares in Psalms 118:8 – It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.  Beloved, Always Keep God First!  If you seek the hand of God you will never get to know Him intimately, but if you seek the face of God everything you need will come with it.  As you go forth today, make sure you keep the Lord first in your life.

Scripture Reading for Today: Exodus 20:3, Exodus 34:14

May God Bless you at Your point of need!
