Faithful God vs. Fake Friends!

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever committed your life to helping other people?  No matter how extensive the request was, you did whatever you could do to help them.  Many times you sacrificed and went without in order for someone else to have.  How does it make you feel when people turn and question your motives?  Because of your love for the Lord Jesus Christ, you face more attacks than ever before.  Never would you have imagined your family and friends would turn on you.  Never would you have guessed people who smiled in your face were the same people attempting to destroy you.  One of the hardest things to overcome in our walk with the Lord is attacks from our brothers and sisters in Christ.  It’s one thing to be attacked by people of the world, but it is something different when a fellow laborer of the Gospel sends out an attack against you.

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  When the Lord dropped this devotional in my spirit, I began to think of all the people and things I had to fight off because of jealousy.  I never imagined so many people would dislike me because I have committed to living my life for the Lord Jesus Christ.  Do you realize this will happen to you as well?  It makes no difference if your ministry causes you to stand in front of the people or work behind the scene.  Attacks will come your way.  You often wonder why are people jealous of “little o’ me?”  Always know this: The anointing that rest on your life is what brings hatred … not you!  My friend, I would rather have a Faithful God vs. Fake Friends!  The Bible declares in Lamentations 3:22 – It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

My brother, my sister, there are times when you feel alone throughout this journey.  You often wonder if anyone understands you or what it is you are enduring.  They think they know you, but they really do not.  On the outside you are smiling, but within you are breaking down.  You love everyone, but for some reason people do not feel the same way about you.  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?  You act like it does not bother you, but within it hurts.  You have the mask over your face acting tougher than you really are.  Beloved, at some point in your life you must desire a Faithful God vs. Fake Friends!  I know you hate being alone, but with the Lord Jesus Christ you always have a present help.  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  Understand, you have a faithful God, … so why are you settling for fake friends?

Scripture Reading for Today: Proverbs 18:24
