Matthew 5:44 (NLT) – “But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”
Point to Remember: One of the greatest challenges for any of us is loving the people who have intentionally done us wrong. The people who plotted, planned, and schemed against. The people who created and then spread the rumor or gossip, knowing it wasn’t true. The people who smiled in your face but impatiently waited to take your place. Regardless what those people have done to or toward us, we’re still commissioned to love them and pray for them. Listen, we’re commanded them but it doesn’t mean you have to love them back into your inner circle. Sometimes you have to love them from a distance. Additionally, we have to love them but that doesn’t mean you have to like their ways. Beloved, do not let anyone prevent you from enjoying the blessings of The Lord because you are embittered toward them. Love them. Pray for them. But also steer clear of them.
