About The Church
On Sunday, August 8, 2010, the Lord entrusted me with a vision to plant a church in Tallahassee, Florida, known as Bible Based Church. We are a Bible-teaching, Bible-preaching, and Bible-believing local church committed to the truth of God’s Word.
At Bible Based Church, we exist to serve our community through the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our mission is to build a strong, Bible-centered ministry that prepares and equips believers for Christian discipleship and effective community service.
We are called to impact lives and transform communities by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and demonstrating His love in practical, compassionate ways. As part of this vision, we are committed to establishing resources that advance the ministry and meet both spiritual and natural needs. These include the acquisition of property to develop a Christ-centered youth training and education center, a job training and workforce development center, a family life center for ministry and community events, and a food pantry to serve those experiencing hunger and hardship.
What We Believe
The Word of God (Holy Scriptures):
We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God. Holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture, and this inspiration extends fully to every part of the Bible as originally given. We believe the Scriptures are without error and that they center on the Lord Jesus Christ—His person, His work, and His first and second coming. The Bible is given for our instruction and guides us in righteous living. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Holy Trinity:
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Godhead is one in essence and three in function.
God the Father:
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent. (Genesis 1:1)
God the Son:
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as the complete and final sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now serves as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:25)
God the Holy Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and works in the world to convict of sin, regenerate the believer, and empower, guide, instruct, and comfort those who follow Christ. (Matthew 1:20; John 15:26)
Mankind:
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost. Salvation and spiritual life are only possible through regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26)
Salvation:
We believe that salvation is made possible through the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All who receive Him by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God. (Romans 10:9)
The Return of Jesus Christ:
We believe in the personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ, which is the blessed hope of the believer and a motivation for holy living and faithful service. (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18)
The Power of Prayer:
We believe prayer is a continual and consistent dialogue between humanity and God. (James 5:16)
The Power of Fasting:
We believe fasting is a faithful, obedient, and sacrificial act that strengthens spiritual discipline and dependence on God. (Mark 9:29)
The Church (Ecclesia):
We believe the true Church is made up of all who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ and are united as one body, with Christ as the Head. (Matthew 16:18)
Baptism:
We believe in water baptism by immersion as a public testimony of a believer’s death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ. (Matthew 3:13–17)
Holy Communion:
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a sacred memorial of Christ’s sacrifice, to be observed by all believers. (1 Corinthians 11:24–25)
Tithing:
We believe that all believers are called to give a tenth of their increase as an act of obedience and worship unto God. (Malachi 3:6–12)
The Devil/Satan:
We believe that Satan is real, the author of sin, and the one responsible for the fall of humanity. He is destined for eternal judgment in the lake of fire. (Matthew 4:1–3; Acts 5:3; Revelation 20:10)
