About The Church
On Sunday, August 8, 2010, the Lord entrusted me with a vision to plant a church in Tallahassee, Florida under the name of Bible Based Church Tallahassee. We are a Bible teaching, Bible preaching, Bible believing local church.
- At Bible Based Church Tallahassee we are a local church serving the local community through the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- At Bible Based Church Tallahassee we envision building a strong bible-based foundational ministry that is designed to prepare and equip Believers for Christian discipleship and community service.
- At Bible Based Church Tallahassee we are challenged to change lives and communities through the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spreading His love in a humanistic manner. Challenged to own property that will be used to further the advancement of the ministry, such as: the establishment of a Christ-centered youth educational training center for our youth to grow and flourish; development of a job training center to assist with job placement and professional development; creation of a family life center for community-based and ministry-based events; and the start of a food pantry used to minister to the natural hunger of our homeless and less fortunate friends.
We believe:
- The Word of God (Holy Scriptures): We believe that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God”. We understand this to mean that the whole Bible is inspired, in that holy men of God “were moved by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of Scripture. We believe that this divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of Scripture as it appeared in the original manuscripts. We believe that the whole Bible in those original manuscripts is, therefore, without error. We believe that all Scripture centers around the Lord Jesus Christ in His person, work, and in His first and second coming. Therefore, no portion of the Old Testament is properly read or understood until it leads to Christ. We also believe that all Scripture was designed for our practical instruction. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)
- The Holy Trinity: The doctrine of the triune God is most essential to our Christian faith. The fact of the trinity’s existence simply teaches that there is one God who has manifested Himself in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. We understand that the Godhead is one in essence and three in function.
- God the Father: There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing. (Genesis 1:1)
- God the Son: Jesus Christ is true God (100 percent) and true man (100 percent) – The incarnation, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the Cross of Calvary, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:25)
- God the Holy Spirit: The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during His age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, comfort and empower the believer for Godly living and service. (Matthew 1:20; John 15:26)
- Mankind: Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (Genesis 1:26)
- Salvation: The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of Almighty God. (Romans 10:9)
- The Return of Jesus Christ: The personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ is our hope and has vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
- The Power of Prayer: A constant, consistent dialogue between man and God. (James 5:16)
- The Power of Fasting: An obedient, dedicated and sacrificial act made by man through faith in the Lord. (Mark 9:29)
- The Church (ecclesia): The true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the Head. (Matthew 16:18)
- Baptism: Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. (Matthew 3:13-17)
- The Holy Communion: The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers should share in it. (I Corinthians 11:24-25)
- Tithing: All believers are mandated by God to pay 10 percent of any increase received. This is not optional, but mandatory. (Malachi 3:6-12)
- The devil/satan: We believe that satan is a person, the author of sin, and the reason for the fall of man, and is destined to the judgment of an eternal punishment in the lake of fire. (Matthew 4:1-3; Acts 5:3; Revelation 20:10)
