It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever received a compliment or encouraging word from someone? After you ministered the Word of God, led a song in the choir, or prayed a prayer, you had people approach you with words that caused your flesh to be puffed up. How did you feel about the compliment or encouraging word? Did you receive the glory? Did you entertain pride and arrogance? So often in our lives we receive accolades from man without ever giving the Lord the true recognition. We know that it was the Lord’s doing. We know God used us to do what we did. The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:18 – Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, It’s God’s Glory! I could never stand back and receive God’s glory. No matter how successful you become in life, if it had not been for the Lord, you would not have what you have. It is by the grace of God that we are able to do what we do. It is through the love of God that we are not lost in our sins (Romans 5:8). The Bible declares in Colossians 3:23 – And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. We owe God the glory. When someone wants to thank you for doing something, tell them, “It’s God’s Glory!” When the Lord uses you to do anything, always allow your reply to be It’s God’s Glory!
My brother, my sister, never forget who anointed you. Never forget who pulled you out of your messy situation (Romans 3:23). Never forget to acknowledge the Lord in all your ways (Proverbs 3:6). No matter how wonderful your voice is, It’s God’s Glory! No matter how excellent you sound when you teach or preach, It’s God’s Glory! No matter how often man attempts to elevate you, It’s God’s Glory! The Bible declares in Mark 8:38 – Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory. Thought to Remember: Never forget to give God His glory!
