Proverbs 13:3 (NLT) – “Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.”
Point to Remember: There’s something about being able to guard your tongue, even when you feel justified in telling them exactly how you feel. There’s something about being able to think something but not say anything. There’s something about being able to use your words to bless others instead of cursing them out. There’s something about being able to pray for those who meant you evil instead of stooping to their level of petty and dealing in lies and gossip. Beloved, just because you can say it does not mean you should say it. Disciplining your tongue will enable you to live with no regrets. Discontinue thinking that if you don’t give them a good verbal lashing they’ll keep disrespecting you. The Lord will handle it and them, if you hold your peace.
