It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Today’s devotional, I believe, is important for each of you.  So often we find ourselves involved in so much church work (Matthew 15:3,6) until we neglect the work of the church (Matthew 25:35-46).  We continue to take on more assignments hoping to please those around us, while neglecting our personal time with the Lord.  We overrun the church for everything, while neglecting our homes, marriages, jobs, children, etc.  We think God receives pleasure when we are preaching all over the city, state, country, but our homes are in shambles.  Do you realize what you do in secret will be rewarded openly?  Do you realize what you do in the dark will be exposed in the light?  Do you realize your marriage is a ministry?  You should not win a church and lose your family.

My brother, my sister, I want to take this time to send you a short devotional.  A devotional I hope will reignite the fire within you.  A devotional that will cause you to remember the assignment God birth within you.  A devotional that will make you repent for the errors of your ways.  Beloved, …

As a Christian, we are commissioned to set the example.  We are commissioned to be a light shining wherever we go (Matthew 5:16).  We are commissioned to destroy the devil’s kingdom by the power and blood of Jesus.  Never should we start, engage in, or ignite confusion.  Never should we be the gossip starters or spreaders.  We are required to give more, love more, and serve more.  This is not about what someone can do for you, but what you can do for someone else … so God may receive the glory!  Ministry is not about how high you jump, how fast you run around the church, your ability to speak in tongues, your nice singing voice, your preaching style, your ability to hoop and/or holler.  Ministry is meeting the needs of the people.  Is this why you do what you do?  Are you trying to aid someone or walk on someone?  Would God be pleased with what you are currently doing?

Scripture Reading for Today: 1 Corinthians 4:5

May God Bless you at Your point of need!
