It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God. Have you ever desired more in life? Have you ever accomplished one goal but still desired more? Have you ever believed God for something others thought was crazy? People looked at you and laughed. Have you ever doubted yourself? So often in our lives we desire heavenly things but we are surrounded by earthly people. No matter what you say, someone replies negative. Have you been there? Are you there now?
This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you. My friend, What Are Your Desires? What are you believing God for in your life? Who said you could not have it? So often it becomes difficult to desire more when no one around you believes. Many people live with no expectations for their lives. They take whatever is given. No hope, no faith, no expectancy. What Are Your Desires? The Bible declares in Psalms 37:4 – Delight thyself also in the LORD: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. If you read the scripture closely, you will notice two very important parts. First, you must delight yourself in God and not man. You must have a desire to please the Lord … always! If you delight in the Lord, the scripture goes on to say, He shall give you YOUR heart’s desires. The Lord just made you a promise (never miss the promises God makes to you). The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 1:20 – For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
My brother, my sister, What Are Your Desires? What do you expect from the Lord? Many times people want God to bless their desires, but they never know what their desires are. Allow me to ask you a question: if God were to ask you What Are Your Desires, would you have an answer? The Bible declares in Mark 11:24 – Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Maybe you are expecting a new child, What Are Your Desires? Maybe you are planning your wedding, What Are Your Desires? Maybe you are believing God for a transition in your life, What Are Your Desires? Maybe you are in a holding pattern, seeking the Lord for guidance and direction, What Are Your Desires? Thought to Remember: Make sure your desires compliment God’s Word!
