Where Is Your Heart Now?

Monday, October 31st, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever wanted to give up on yourself?  You vowed to stop living a certain way, but the more you tried to stop the worse it got.  Have you ever been disappointed with yourself?  In spite of all you have achieved, you still critique yourself.  Do you ever stop long enough to enjoy life?  Do you ever sit down and enjoy your family and friends?  Do you enjoy being with yourself?  So often in our lives, we spend most of our time doing busy work but never productive work.  Always on the go, but never knowing where you are going.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Do you ever ask yourself, “Why am I doing what I am doing?”  Many times, we do things because we believe it is expected of us.  Your heart is not in it, but if it will make everyone happy then you do it.  There has to come a time in your life when what you do is done for the Lord.  I understand you want to make family and friends happy, but if you are not happy doing it then you are not being real with yourself or God.  My friend, Where Is Your Heart Now?  The Bible declares in Psalms 19:14 - Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.  When you first started the work, there was a glow surrounding you.  Wherever you were needed, you were willing to go.  As time has passed, your glow has diminished.  It is no longer ministry, but now it is obligation.  It is no longer for the glory of God, but due to fear of rejection.

My brother, my sister, Where Is Your Heart Now?  Have you lost your passion?  Are you still committed?  If not, why are you still involved?  You must understand one important thing.  Although you aim to please man from the outside, God views your inside (the heart).  Your heart reveals your true essence (1 Samuel 16:7).  The Bible declares in Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.  Dear friend, when you refuse to operate from your heart, you pollute your life.  Whatever your heart beats after, is what will keep you going.  The Bible declares in Matthew 12:34 - … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  Where Is Your Heart Now?  Are you still excited about the things of God?  Have you taken on more than you can handle?  Do you have hidden anger toward someone?  Is your mouth speaking what your heart is leaking?  Thought to Ponder: If your heart is no longer there, why are you?

In All Things, Give God The Praise!

Friday, October 28th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever been taken by surprise?  You thought you knew everything about a person, place or thing.  Have you ever prejudged someone based on someone else’s opinion about them?  You never knew the person but every time you saw them, the opinions of others caused you to pass judgment.  Have you ever been misunderstood?  Your name and character was criticized.  Has your heart ever been broken by lies and rumors?  Have you ever had friends betray you?  Have you ever been back-stabbed by someone you trusted?  Can you relate to any of these questions?  Do you know someone who can?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  After all the hurt you have experienced in life, God has remained faithful toward you.  During your time of testing and enduring, God sustained you to the end.  You were left for dead.  You were left to raise your children alone.  There have been times of difficulty.  Through it all, God has been there.  My friend, In All Things, Give God The Praise!  While you think your situation is irreversible, in all honesty, it could be worse.  If the enemy could have had his way, he would have loved to destroy you.  The Bible declares in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.  The scripture does not require you to give thanks for everything, but ineverything.  When you praise God in everything, you are acknowledging He is in control of all things.

My brother, my sister, what are you faced with today?  What circumstance are you asking God to remove from you?  After you prayed about it, did you offer praise unto God?  In All Things, Give God The Praise!  The Bible declares in Hebrews 13:15 - By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.  Your ability to praise God in spite of your situation, will always encourage you to hold on.  God has not forgotten you.  He is ever present in your life.  When problems arise on your job, in your home, in your classroom, on the battlefield, at the church or in your relationship, do not become consumed with worry and anger, but In All Things, Give God The Praise!  The Bible declares in Psalms 34:1 - I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  Thought To Remember: When things seem unbearable, learn how to offer the sacrifice of praise.  Until Monday …

At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest!

Thursday, October 27th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself backed up against the wall?  Somewhere along the line you lost control.  Have you ever had weak moments in your life?  Times when you did not want to leave the comfort of your home.  You thought everything would go away if you stayed in bed all day.  Have you ever cried until you could not cry anymore?  Have you ever screamed until there was no more sound coming out?  Have you ever prayed yourself to sleep at night?  Have you ever spent all day worrying about tomorrow?  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest!  When you can no longer think of something or someone to count on, it is then that God can manifest Himself.  As long as you think you have the answer, God will stand back.  When you finally submit and surrender to the All-knowing, All-powerful God, He can show Himself strong.  The Bible declares in 2 Corinthians 12:9 - And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness … In your life, there’s nothing too hard for God to handle.  What seems impossible to you, is possible to God (Luke 1:37).  At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest!  While it may be true, you know a lot of people, there will come a time in your life when your networking and connecting will not help.  A time when money cannot buy an answer.  A time when you must trust in the power of God.

My brother, my sister, At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest!  The Bible declares in Matthew 11:29-30 - Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.  Dear friend, what are you faced with today?  Where do you find yourself feeling weak?  Are you tired of being tired?  Are you in need of relief?  You must understand the strength of God.  Many forget God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1).  Since He created all that we know, He is able to handle it all.  Nothing can occur in our lives, that God finds difficult.  Since He created all things, that makes Him stronger than everything.  At Your Weakest Point, God Is At His Strongest!  Thought To Remember: If you focus on God’s strength, you can overcome your weaknesses.

Against All Odds

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever been considered the under-dog?  No matter what you did, no one really took you seriously.  Have you ever had to work twice as hard as others.  Because of your size or gender, no one wanted to take a chance on you.  Have you ever felt stepped on by life?  After all the love you gave, you received just the opposite.  Have you ever had to overcome setbacks and misfortunes in life?  Maybe you were born with a defect or unique trait.  So often in our lives, we find ourselves fighting just to be appreciated.  Can you relate to any of these questions?  Do you know someone who can?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  If you think about all you have endured in life, you understand that it was through the power of the Lord.  My friend, Against All Odds you made it.  You are where you are in life because you refused to give up.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:37 - Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.  No matter what the obstacle is, you are able to conquer it through Him (Jesus) who loves you.  Whatever setback you experienced in life, God was/is still able to use it for His glory.  The [one] thing the enemy desired to use in your defeat, is the same thing God used in your victory.  Against All Odds!  The Bible declares in Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

My brother, my sister, Against All Odds you have overcome your dilemmas.  When you set out on your journey, no one really believed you had a chance.  No one trusted in your confidence.  Many laughed in your face.  Some walked away.  Through your faith and perseverance, look at yourself now.  Against All Odds!  The Bible declares in Romans 8:31 - What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  Dear friend, you must understand who you are in the Lord.  With God, you are always in the majority.  No matter what the natural eye perceives.  No matter how you feel.  God does not live according to what man says, but man lives according to what God has said.  The Bible declares in 1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  Thought to Remember: Against All Odds you are still victorious.

What do you do …

Tuesday, October 25th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever walked the floors through the night?  There was so much on your mind that sleeping was secondary.  Have you ever been beaten, battered and bruised by life’s circumstances?  Everywhere you went, someone was determined to destroy you.  Have you ever suffered through troubles, heartaches and pains?  From the outside all seems well, but within you are breaking down.  There comes a time in our lives when our heart can no longer take it anymore.  You have tried everything and everyone, but it all ended short of the goal.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, today you may find yourself in an unfamiliar position.  Normally you are the one encouraging everyone.  You are the one sending loving emails and heartfelt letters. Usually, you spend your evenings calling the sick and wounded.  What do you do when the encourager now needs encouragement?  What do you do when the outcome seems uncertain!  What do you do when you feel victimized by life?  What do you do when you find it difficult to minister to yourself?  What do you do when the doctor returns with a report that puts your life on pause?  What do you do when you have no money, but you work a job?  What do you do when death has visited your family?  The Bible declares in 1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.   Dear friend, each day you live presents a different question to answer.  But with every question, the answer remains the same … God!

My brother, my sister, no matter what the situation looks like, God is still God.  No matter how awful you feel, God is still on His throne.  Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.  Life presents no test that God cannot pass.  The Bible declares in Isaiah 46:9 - Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.  What do you do when life seems to overpower you?  It is at that point in your life that you must trust and believe God is.  What is He?  He is whatever you want or need Him to be for you.  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.  No matter how impossible it appears, God can still do it (Luke 1:37). Thought to Remember: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8).

Have You Opened The Door?

Monday, October 24th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives, we find ourselves overwhelmed with life’s problems.  There are times when we take on more than we really can handle.  We become more involved in church work until we ignore the work of the church.  Have you ever known someone who desired to do the will of God, but would not release worldly activities?  They say all the right things, but their heart is far from the truth.  Have you ever vowed never to repeat the same mistakes?  You mean well, but you still fall back.  Are you currently living a double life?  Saved on Sunday, worldly every other day.  Are you totally committed to the things of God?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Real briefly, close your eyes and think back over your life.  Think about all of the mistakes you made.  Think about the mean and nasty things you said and did to others.  After you have done this, I want you to think about your life now.  The new you.  The way you treat people now.  My friend, Have You Opened The Door?  Have you allowed God in your life permanently?  The Bible declares in Revelation 3:20 - Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.  When Christ knocked on your door (your heart), did you open up and let Him in?  Is He currently knocking?  Has He stopped knocking?  You must understand, to attend church every Sunday is good; but to know God everyday is life.  Have You Opened The Door?   While churches count membership, God desires relationship.

My brother, my sister, the Bible declares in Hebrews 4:7 - … as it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.  When you open the door (your heart), you must be willing to allow God to have ownership.  You have to be sincere when you invite Him in.  Have You Opened The Door?  In spite of all the mistakes you have made in life, God is still able to forgive and restore.  After all the heartaches and pains you have experienced, God can still heal and make you whole.  During your tearful nights and long days, God can still grant peace unto you.  Dear friend, what you need to survive is found in the Lord.  It is available for you, … after you open the door.  Matthew 7:8 declares - For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  Have You Opened The Door?  Thought to Remember: When you open the door to God, He will keep the door open for you.

Nothing Just Happens!

Friday, October 21st, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever believed in good and bad luck?  When something amazing happens, you tell someone “I have good luck!”  Have you ever contacted a psychic or palm reader?  You wanted to know what your future revealed.  Have you ever believed in horoscopes?  You believe you are the way you are because of your zodiac sign.  So often in our lives, we base our outcomes on worldly creations.  If things go well, it was luck or good fortune.  If things go wrong, it was a curse.  Do you not know that many people believe a psychics, palm readers, or horoscopes can actually reveal their future?  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  In our lives, we often face challenges and dilemmas.  There will be times when we wonder what the outcome will entail.  We begin to believe the old saying, “stuff happens.”  Knowing this, you must understand the divine plan of God.  Worldly creations can never explain spiritual matters.  My friend, Nothing Just Happens!  The Bible declares in Ecclesiastes 3:1 - To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  To say “stuff happens” is to assume God is not in control.  Nothing happens in your life that God does not know about.  No one can enter or exit your life without God’s awareness.  The Bible declares in Isaiah 40:22 - It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, … There are no secrets hidden from the omniscience of God.  Nothing Just Happens!  Your life is not chaotic, it is purposed.

My brother, my sister, God is in control of everything in your life.  The enemy himself cannot converse with you unless the Lord gives Him permission.  As God did for Job, He has also placed a hedge around you.  Nothing Just Happens!  The Bible declares in Jeremiah 1:5 - Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.  Dear friend, before you knew who you were, God had fellowship with you.  Before your mother and father knew each other, God had a relationship with you.  Nothing Just Happens!   No matter what you face in this life, God is aware and able.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.  Whether it is a psychic, a root-worker, a palm reader, a horoscope or a fortune cookie, none of these tactics will ever be able to declare or explain your purpose.  Thought to Remember: When God formed you, it was not an accident but a purpose.

Never Compromise Your Faith!

Thursday, October 20th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself wavering with life’s decisions?  You know you must decide sooner or later.  Have you ever found yourself questioning your judgment regarding a certain matter?  As a result of what you said, you are now mad at yourself.  Have your ever known someone who goes along with what everyone else says or does?  As the weather changes, so do they.  So often in our lives, we attempt to avoid tough decision making.  We try to prolong as long as possible.  You are afraid to make the wrong the decision.  You fear what the outcome could become.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  In life, we all face tough decisions.  No one enjoys the middle position (having to choose one over the other).  If you could blink twice and everything was resolved, you would be so much happier.  Right?  Wrong!  During those uncomfortable times, God is molding your character and personality.  My friend, no matter what decision you have to make (each day), Never Compromise Your Faith!  Never allow your current dilemma or situation make you compromise your faith in your God.  The Bible declares in Mark 8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.  If you really think about it, there should never be any person, place or thing surrounding you that attempts to push you away from the will of God (Romans 8:38-39).  Never Compromise Your Faith!

My brother, my sister, what decision are you faced with this morning?  Will the outcome pull you away from the will of God?  Will you have to denounce or ignore the Lord to fulfill it?  Is the outcome worth the heartache?  Never Compromise Your Faith!  God has been truly good to you.  Never be ashamed of that.  At your lowest and heaviest points, it was the goodness and faithfulness of God that brought you out.  The Bible declares in Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  There comes a time in your life when you must stand for righteousness sake.  You can no longer waver with the wind.  Neither can you change as the weather.  You are either for or against the Lord.  The Bible declares in James 1:8 - A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.  Never Compromise Your Faith!  Thought to Remember: If you do not stand for something, you will fall for everything.

Turn It Over To Jesus!

Wednesday, October 19th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever been offended by someone?  Maybe they said or did something that really hurt your feelings.  Have you ever been left to pick up the pieces of your heart alone?  You gave your best to someone but they used and deceived you for their own pleasures.  Have you ever plotted and planned to seek revenge against anyone?  You know it is wrong, but you feel it will bring you relief.  So often in our lives, we harbor anger, frustration, pain, hate, or even jealousy against someone.  Everytime you see that person, rage rises up in you.  Your heart begins to pump really fast.  Evil thoughts enter your mind.  You desire to attack.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, Turn It Over To Jesus!  You must not allow the deception of your neighbor to push you outside of the Lord’s will.  At that same point, you must not allow past hurts and pains to hinder your progress in the things of God.  The Bible declares in Philippians 3:13-14 - Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.  In order for you to really enjoy the fullness of God’s blessings in your life, you have to Turn It Over To Jesus!  (it = whatever person, place or thing in your life that tries to hinder you.)  Seeking revenge is not the will of God.  Plotting physical attacks bring no glory to God.  The Bible declares in Romans 12:19 - Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.   God has your back.  He will intervene for you.

My brother, my sister, what are you harboring?  Have you set out to avenge yourself?  Do you believe God is pleased with your plans?  He is not!  The Bible declares in 2 Chronicles 20:15 - … Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.  Turn It Over To Jesus!  There are no lies told on you that God cannot bring truth to.  There are no traps set for you that God cannot cover.  Whatever animosity you feel, God can release you from it.  Dear friend, in order for the Lord to free you from the pains of your past, you must Turn It Over To Jesus!  The Bible declares in John 10:10 - … I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  Prayer for Today: Father, help me release any past hurts or pains to you, in Jesus Christ name … Amen!

You Have Not Because You Ask Not!

Tuesday, October 18th, 2016

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  So often in our lives, we find ourselves searching for answers to life’s questions.  We desire to understand what God’s divine plan for our life entails.  We do not have a problem trusting in the Lord, but a sneak preview of what He is doing would be appreciated  Have you ever wondered how the storms in your life would make you stronger?  While you are enduring them, you fail to see your renewed strength.  Have you ever prayed for God to take the pain away?  As much as you believe, the pain and suffering has become overbearing.  Have you ever asked God to remove people, places and things away from you?  You discern that ungodly behavior has attempted to suffocate you.  Can you relate to any of these questions?  Do you know someone who can?

This morning, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, You Have Not Because You Ask Not!  When you were growing up in your parents home, you asked questions about everything.  When you did not understand something, you quickly posed a question.  The same behavior is required in your walk with God.  God is a loving God.  If you need understanding, it is granted through your ability to ask for it (Proverbs 4:7).  The Bible declares in Matthew 21:22 - And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.  You Have Not Because You Ask Not!  In our lives, many people possess internal anger toward God.  There are times when you think He has dealt you an unfair hand.  You fail to see how His plan for your life will work together (Romans 8:28).  The Bible declares in John 14:13 - And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

My brother, my sister, what question do you have for the Father?  Do you desire understanding of your life?  Has sickness touched your body and you want to know why?  Has your finances experienced a dry season and you do not know what went wrong?  You Have Not Because You Ask Not!  The Bible declares in John 15:7 - If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  God, the Father, has left the door open for you to ask of Him.  It is not God’s will to leave you confused and disheartened (1 Corinthians 14:33).  Your life is in the palm of God’s hand.  He will not let you fall.  He will not allow the enemy to destroy you.  The Bible declares in John 16:26 - At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:  You Have Not Because You Ask Not!  Challenge for Today: When you have a question, begin to ask God for the answer.
