Do Not Waste Your Blessings!

Friday, May 29th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  After all your praying and pleading, have you finally received your blessing?  Was it worth all you endured?  Are you being faithful over it?  So often in our lives, we ask God for the world.  We desire for God to give us whatever we ask Him for.  No matter how unrealistic we may sound at times, we expect God to perform the act.  Many never desire a relationship with the Lord, His blessings and His favor is all they want.  Does this sound like you?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Do Not Waste Your Blessings!  Many people receive the blessings they ask the Lord for, but never enjoy it because of wasteful behavior.  Lack of wisdom, lack of understanding, pride, impure motives, are a few ways people waste their blessings.  The Bible declares in Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.  Allow me to ask you a question.  Why do you seek spiritual advice from unspiritual people?  The advice and counseling of man has caused many people to waste their blessings.  Just because something or someone sounds good, does not make it of God.  Do Not Waste Your Blessings, on ungodly things.  The Bible declares in Proverbs 8:11 - For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

My brother, my sister, are you an unfaithful steward toward the blessings of God?  Have you kept your promise to God?  When you wanted God to bless you, you had no problem promising your life.  Now that you have received from the Lord, have you given Him your life?  Have you forgotten about the Lord?  The Bible declares in Psalms 14:1 - The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.  Thought to Remember: If God has given you the blessing, do not waste it on ungodly things!

What Do You Do When No One Else Can Help?

Thursday, May 28th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever felt helpless in life?  You felt alone in a world full of people.  You felt as though no one could be trusted.  Have you ever felt neglected?  Friends and family broke their promises to you.  Have you ever felt trapped in life?  No matter how hard you try, it seems as though you will never be able to get out.  Maybe it is your job that makes you feel trapped.  Or it could be your debt that makes you feel trapped.  Whatever it is you find yourself crying out for someone to hear and rescue you.  After all you have done for other people, you expect someone to come to your rescue.  Right?  So often in our lives, our cry for assistance is ignored by the one person you never imagined it would be.  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, What Do You Do When No One Else Can Help?  Where do you turn for guidance?  Is there anyone you can trust now?  The Bible declares in Psalms 121:1-2 - I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  What Do You Do When No One Else Can Help?  It is there that you must ask God to help you.  There are no secrets hidden from the Lord.  There’s nothing too hard for God (Genesis 18:14).  The Bible declares in Isaiah 59:1 - Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear:  If you sincerely cry out for help, He is able to respond to your request (Ephesians 3:20).  In the face of lies and rumors, God is still your helper (Psalms 30:10).  When hell has attempted to surround you, God is your refuge and fortress (Psalms 9:9).  When friends have forsaken you, God will stick closer than your brother (Proverbs 18:24).

My brother, my sister, What Do You Do When No One Else Can Help?  You learn how to rest in the arms of God.  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.  No one really knows the pain you feel but the Lord.  No one believes it can get better, but God said it can.  People think you are weird.  Your faith is considered to be foolish.  You are mocked and scorned.  Fingers are pointed in judgment toward you.  It is hard to smile at times.  You really want to react.  The Bible declares in 2 Chronicles 20:15 - … Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.  What Do You Do When No One Else Can Help?  You begin to thank the Lord.  Do you not know people who help you will never let you forget they did?  They will always remind you (sometimes in front of other people).  Always know, you have a helper in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Thought to Remember: When you are in need of help, there’s only one choice.

I’m Tired of Crying Over This!

Wednesday, May 27th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, I want to ask you some questions from my heart to your heart.  I consider these questions to be a part of a self-evaluation test.

  • Have you ever found yourself crying over situations you knew you could not change?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over people you knew you could not change?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying about the chaos in our world?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over the recent statistics of divorces in our world … especially the church?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over the behavior of your child?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over your financial status?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over the division in the church?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over your marriage?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over the lack of reverence we have for God?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over our young ladies behaving as men, and our young men behaving as women?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying over the lack of involvement the church has at times?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying for people who have turned their backs on God?
  • Have you ever found yourself crying uncontrollably?

If you have answered ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, welcome to the club.  Welcome to reality.  Welcome to having a heart full of love for God and His people.  Beloved, today you must tell yourself, “I’m Tired of Crying Over This!“  My friend, after you have finished crying over it, what next?  You have to decide what you plan to do about the person, the situation, the thing or the dilemma that has caused you to cry.  The Bible declares in Revelation 7:17 - … and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Somehow, Someway, You’re Going To Make It!

Tuesday, May 26th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself pressed against the wall?  As you looked around there appeared to be trouble on every side.  No matter what you attempted to do, no matter what you attempted to say, things did not appear to get better.  In some cases, things seemed to get worse in your life.  Have you ever found yourself seeking the Lord for answers but it appeared as if He was not listening to you?  Yes you know He is there, but for some reason you are having difficulty tracing His presence.  Yes you know He knows all and sees all, but you have begun to wonder if and/or when He will show up.  Have you ever found yourself hanging on by a wing and a prayer?  You found yourself on the brink of breaking down.  Within you have told yourself, “if one more thing goes wrong I am going to lose my mind!”  Have you ever been there?  Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Child of God, you are not alone in this matter.  You are not the only one enduring hard times.  You are not the only one seeking the Lord for answers.  You are not the only one feeling pressed against the wall.  You are not the only one struggling to raise your children.  You are not the only one dealing with financial hardships.  You are not the only one who despises their job.  You are not the only one being lied on by world folks, as well as church folks.  You are not the only one being attacked by the devil and his imps.  My friend, you are not the only one, but guess what … Somehow, Someway, You’re Going To Make It!  The Bible declares in Psalms 88:1-3 - O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: 2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry; 3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

I do not want to speak lightly of your current dilemma.  I do not want to appear apathetic.  I do not want to act as if I am not experiencing warfare.  Life can hurt you.  People can hurt you.  Things can hurt you.  However, God can heal you.  God will heal you.  God has healed you.  No devil in hell can do anything to you that our God cannot shield you from.  Yes things appear difficult right now.  Yes things appear chaotic in your life.  Yes things appear on a downward spiral.  No matter what, beloved, Somehow, Someway, You’re Going To Make It!  The Bible declares in Psalms 46:1-5 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; … 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.  My brother, my sister, do not give up.

I Can Heal Your Brokenness!

Friday, May 22nd, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Yesterday late afternoon the Lord began to prepare me for today’s devotional.  While doing office work, He dropped the word “brokenness” into my spirit.  Not fully understanding exactly what the Lord was saying to me, I began to pray and inquire of Him.  In response, the Lord said, “I Can Heal Your Brokenness!”  Webster defines brokenness as damaged or altered by breaking; disrupted by change.  As soon as I received this word, I began to think about several times in my life when I wanted to give up.  Life was difficult to handle and relief appeared hard to achieve.  The more I thought, the more I realized how Awesome our God is.

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend …

  • Have you ever had your heart broken by life or the things life throws your way?
  • Have you ever had your trust betrayed by close friends or family members?
  • Have you ever had your character assassinated by the same people who attend your church?
  • Have you ever had co-workers turn their backs on you just to get a promotion?
  • Have you ever spent time encouraging people during their trying times, only to see them rebel against you later in life?
  • Have you ever dated the man or woman of your dreams, only to realize he or she was the man or woman of your nightmares?
  • Have you ever had someone break your heart and leave you to gather the pieces?
  • Have you ever had friends drain you dry and leave you seeking answers?
  • Have you ever found yourself mad at God for something man did to you?
  • Have you ever questioned God about lies told on you?

My brother, my sister, thus saith the Lord, “I Can Heal Your Brokenness!”  Whether you realize it or not, God is able to heal you where you hurt.  He is able to heal your hidden places.  The Bible declares in Malachi 4:2-3 - But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Its God’s Glory!

Thursday, May 21st, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever received a compliment or encouraging word from someone?  After you ministered the Word of God, led a song in the choir or prayed a prayer, you had people approach you with words that caused your flesh to be puffed up.  How did you feel about the compliment or encouraging word?  Did you receive the glory?  Did you entertain pride and arrogance?  So often in our lives we receive accolades from man without ever giving the Lord the true recognition.  We know that it was the Lord’s doing.  We know God used us to do what we did.  The Bible declares inProverbs 16:18 - Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My friend, Its God’s Glory!  I could never stand back and receive God’s glory.  No matter how successful you become in life, if it had not been for the Lord, you would not have what you have.  It is by the grace of God that we are able to do what we do.  It is through the love of God that we are not lost in our sins (Romans 5:8).  The Bible declares in Colossians 3:23 - And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.  We owe God the glory.  When someone wants to thank you for doing something, tell them, “Its God’s Glory!”  When the Lord uses you to do anything, always allow your reply to be Its God’s Glory!

My brother, my sister, never forget who anointed you.  Never forget who pulled you out of your messy situation (Romans 3:23).  Never forget to acknowledge the Lord in all your ways (Proverbs 3:6).  No matter how wonderful your voice is, Its God’s Glory!  No matter how excellent you sound when you teach or preach, Its God’s Glory!  No matter how often man attempts to elevate you, Its God’s Glory!  The Bible declares in Mark 8:38 - Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory. Thought to Remember: Never forget to give God His glory!

Who Is Like The Lord?

Wednesday, May 20th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever found yourself overwhelmed with life’s problems?  The more you do, the more you endure.  The more money you acquire, the more problems you experience.  The more you attempt to help someone, the more heartache you withstand.  The more you pray, the more the devil attacks you.  Have you ever had one of those days where you wanted to give up on everything and everyone?  Those days where everything appears to be going against you.  Those days where you continue to be misunderstood by your peers.  Those days where it appears that everything you touch crumbles.  Have you ever found yourself pressed against the wall with no foreseeable outcome?  Yes you are saved, but you find yourself stuck in a dilemma.  Yes you love the Lord but somehow you find yourself in the midst of a hellish situation.

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  In spite of all we endure in life, God is still faithful unto us (His people).  In spite of the mistakes we make each and everyday, the Lord still speaks highly of us.  Do you realize the things you cried over yesterday, have actually made you stronger today?  Do you realize all of the mess you endured in the past has actually qualified you for present and future opportunities?  If you had not endured the heartache, heart break or heart renewal you would have never been able to stand as you are now.  My friend, when you are going through your storms in life, it is very hard to see how things will work out for your good (Romans 8:28).  When you are trying to pick up the broken pieces of your heart, it is hard to see how you will ever love or trust someone again.  Just when you decided to stop trying, THE LORD steps in.  Child of God, Who Is Like The Lord?  The Bible declares in Exodus 15:11 - Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

My brother, my sister, do you realize God may not come when you want Him to, but He will always … always be on time?  He may not appear when you think He should, but just before you breakdown, He comes through.  Allow me to be very frank with you, it is hard to understand why you are going through.  It is hard to understand why you continue to be tested.  It is hard to understand why people continue to gossip about you.  It is hard to understand why tragedy continues to knock on your door.  It is hard to fully understand what’s really going on around you.  In spite of what is going on around you, coming against you or happening within you, God is [still] up to something in your life.  It may not look like it, but He is.  Beloved, Who Is Like The Lord?  The Bible declares in Psalms 71:19 - Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!

You Owe God …

Tuesday, May 19th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  My brother, my sister, I have been instructed by the Lord to send this message to you. (When I received it in prayer, I had to instantly repent.)

Child of God,

You Owe God An Apology For Your Complaints This Morning!

Some of you may be innocent of the charges, however many of us are not.  Some of us have complained since exiting the bed this morning.  Some of us have yet to thank the Lord for a new day, but we have taken the time to gripe and murmur about everything else.  The Lord is requesting an apology from each of us for complaining about our jobs, our finances, our ministries, etc.  The Bible declares in Philippians 2:14 - Do all things without murmurings and disputings:  Think about it, all of the things we complain about can end instantly, if life is taken away from us.  The fact that the Lord allows us to see another day should let each of us know He loves us, cares about what we are going through and is able to handle the situation.  Beloved, since you cannot start the day over at least start fresh from this moment forward.

There’s a Higher Calling For You!

Monday, May 18th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  Have you ever felt unfulfilled?  No matter what you accomplished in your life, you always felt empty within?  From the outside you seem so successful, but on the inside you are broken. You are surrounded by people, places and things that always applaud you.  People say, “I want to be like him/her.”  You have achieved great things, BUT why do you feel a void?  So often in our lives, we never submit our will to the Will of the Lord.  We follow our own blueprints.  We have our own agenda.  Does this sound like anyone you know?  Does this sound like you?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  What do you do when your success leaves you broken?  What do you do when your accomplishments leave you alone?  My friend, There’s a Higher Calling For You!  God has more in store for you.  Ask yourself this question, why do I feel incomplete?  The Bible declares in Proverbs 16:9 - A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.  There is much more to your life than what you currently see.  God has a purpose for you to uphold.  You are the righteousness of God.  You are a son and a daughter of the Most High God.  The Bible declares in Psalms 37:23 - The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

My brother, my sister, There’s a Higher Calling For You!  There’s more work for you to complete.  I know things seem cloudy right now.  You cannot see the sun shining in your life.  Everything and everyone has lost hope in you.  You feel beaten, battered and bruised.  You wonder what the Lord is trying to teach you.  The Bible declares in Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  You must know things will work together for your good.  God will not fail you.  He will not leave you stranded.  There’s a Higher Calling For You!  There’s more God has in store for you.  Thought to Remember:  If your life feels incomplete, now is the time to surrender to the God of all completion.

Great Is The Lord!

Friday, May 15th, 2015

It’s a wonderful day to be a child of God.  What do you do when everything in life seems to be wrong?  What do you do when the people, places and things you once enjoyed, no longer satisfy you?  How do you handle change?  Can you bear being alone?  So often in our lives, we become dependent on everything and everyone.  When a decision has to be made, we have to call our family and friends for advice.  No dependency on God!  Does this sound like you?  Have you been there?  Are you there now?

Today, I have been commissioned to come and minister to you.  Great Is The Lord!  My friend, after you seek your family and your friend’s advice, what do you do if their advice was wrong?  The Lord God is a great God.  He only wants the best for His people.  The Bible declares in Psalms 145:3 - Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable.  Do you know the Lord loves you? He loves you in spite of your faults and failures.  Your rights and wrongs.  Your confessed and unconfessed sins.  How many people do you know that would love you even when you have done wrong?  The Bible declares in 1 Chronicles 16:25 - For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: He also is to be feared above all gods.

My brother, my sister, Great Is The Lord!  When your situation seems impossible, He is still great.  When everything and everyone has gone away, He is still great.  When money has run low, He is still great.  When you face difficulties in your relationships or friendships, He is still great.  When people lie, gossip and spread rumors about you, He is still great.  The Bible declares in Psalms 48:1 - Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness.   In spite of it all, Great Is The Lord!  Thought to Remember: When you want to give up on life, call on the Lord … He is Great!
